Paladin 6/Lore Bard X.
I'm not expecting to go past level 10 or so, but it's not impossible.
I'm thinking V. Human with Shield Master to start and maximizing Cha after picking up Warcaster at 4th. Going with a Strength build, with expertise in athletics.
I know one party member is planning a ranged AT rogue. The rest of the party tends toward striker/blaster types, but could surprise me.
The idea of the build is to concentrate on faerie fire or bane whilst sword and boarding, and using cutting words to annoy the DM. Out of combat it'll make great face/skill monkey and bring solid healing through song of rest.
I'll use Magical Secrets to pick up a SCAG cantrip (probably booming blade), and a Smite spell or Aura of Vitality regardless of which class I start as.
The upside, as I see it, is better casting with the first build including earlier Magical Secrets and better Nova rounds with the Pally build.
Any thoughts?
