.MAFF files no longer opening in Pale Moon browser

Earlier today I noticed that my browser can no longer open .maff files. Whenever I try to open one the browser crashes.

They always worked before.

Both Pale Moon and the add-on to save and open MAFF files (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mozilla-archive-format/) are up to date. I also double checked that they're not too up to date, ie. rolling them back to earlier versions didn't help (so I re-updated).

I've got a lot of stuff saved in this format. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Only thing I can think of is to try ark? I've never even heard of .maff and I have, well, had pale moon installed for a bit. Still way out of my knowledge range. Did PM open it natively or did it use a program you set in the preferences > crap forget which one it was... applications or content?
