I was wondering what some people do, whether it be house rule or by the book, for igniting a creature or freezing them using spells. At our games we have the possibility of a creature being burned by fire for d4 rounds after being hit with a fire spell or being frozen solid for d4 turns after getting hit with a cold spell. They make a fortitude save and the DC is determined by the intensity of the spell. Usually 10+caster lvl+spell level.
