Just noticed that there's a crayon drawing at the bottom of #146 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0146.html) of Rich at Winter Fantasy 05.

Has it always been there?

Its been there for as long as ive been reading the comic, which is a bit over two years now.

Huh? I've been reading since 2006, and I did a few online re-reads before I got the compilation books, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen it there before.

I wonder when it was added. Or if I was just completely missing it before?

I've been reading for 8-9 years. And as far as I can remember, that has always been there. I'm not so sure, though.

Wait, what? I could've sworn you were an established presence on the boards before i got here.

My memory must be getting even worse than i thought.

And maybe you should put more ranks in Knowledge (forum) :smallwink:

I remember that being there the whole time too. One possible reason you didn't notice it is that if you never scrolled the bottom of your window past the bottom of the comic (like on my screen where the one-page comics barely fit in the browser window), you'd have never seen it.

It's been there for nearly a decade, if that helps narrow things down. (http://web.archive.org/web/20060915221727/http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0146.html) :p

Well, you registered before me. I suppose its possible you didn't start regularly posting until after I did? Or maybe youre just confusing me for one of the other Assassin-Guy avatars who were lurking around for a while.

I've been reading since strip #514 was live and I distinctly remember seeing the crayon drawing my first ever readthrough.

Yeah, that join date is q,load of bullhonky. A forum glitch. I joined when 804 was up. Probably around 4-5 years ago. So definitely still before your time.

I think i just suck at remembering when people came and left long-term.

No, the crayon drawing only went up when comic #146 was posted. It was not there before. :smalltongue:

I'm puzzled by the suggestion that Rich went and randomly added it later.

I love that we're all talking about who joined before who and then the dude who's been on for 12 years just comes in and blows us all away.

I started reading at #755, but didn't join the forum until later. My first forum post got scrubbed for violating the rules.

I saw it when I was first reading OOTS ~8 years ago.

Cool, fixed the title for this thread.

Mine was #164. I lurked for a long time, then got married and had kids, and finally have spare time again.

I've been here for a little less than Keltest, if that helps. Which is around comic #935.

Wow, that is a little less. I joined when 933 was the latest.

When I first started reading the comic, I remember #0845 - The Last Laugh (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0845.html) being the most recent strip; by the time I had caught up to the latest strip, #0846 - No Bone Unturned (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0846.html) was the newest one up, with #0847 - Dropping the Ball (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0847.html) being the first one released after I finished my archive binge. According to my profile, I joined the forums almost exactly four years ago (wow, has it really been that long? it often seems like just yesterday...), on the same day that #0850 - not-thog (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0850.html) was released.

I seem to have dropped in at an exciting time. :smalltongue:

I no longer remember when I started reading OotS - sometime in the mid 2000s, after they left Dorukan's dungeon but before the crayons of time - but I didn't join the forum until much later when, a little after #477 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0477.html), I thought someone in the forums would have figured out what MitD was.

Not sure if it is ironic, or just funny, but there you go.

I didn't realize it had your exact join date on your profile.

I joined the day after #841, apparently.

EDIT: My Google-fu is failing me, this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=15736874&postcount=16)is the earliest post of mine I can find and it's about 18 months after I joined the forum.

Same. Thanks for the knowledge - the site claims I joined right after 696 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0696.html), even though I didn't even know about the comic until Roy's fight in the arenaI was using StumbleUpon back then, stumbled onto 136 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0136.html), and thought it was funny enough to read the next few strips (I'd never seen that Monty Python skit before, so instead of an homage, it was all-original content to me). After a few strips, I got the point that it was a serial, went to the first comic, and binged til the Arena.

I almost wish I hadn't found it until after it was complete; all the epicness of it coming at once was one helluva read. Still, bonus Kickstarter content is definitely worth it.

<--- I was reading for about a year before I actually joined the forums. Possibly slightly longer.

That drawing has been here as long as I have, at least. :smallwink:

There's another crayon drawing on another strip, but I don't remember where. I've been trying to convince the Transcription of the Stick and the OOTS Summaries threads to include info about these extra drawings but each says it's the responsibility of the other.

I've been reading since around strip #'s 50-70. It's been a while, I'm not exactly sure.

In all honesty, I don't even remember when I joined the forums, and I've never been a particularly frequent poster in any case. I do, however, remember the current strip when I first caught up to OOtS was #780, Evisceratus' tragic fate (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0780.html), which is probably the most gruesome OOtS comic to date.

Yeah, that does sound weird, now that I think about it. :smallamused:

I'm going to have to re-read everything online now and see if there's anything else I've forgotten from back then. :smalltongue:
