Hi Folks,

So Today my sorcerer/bard gish died, and I need to make a new character :)

The party currently has a Frenzy Barbarian, a Assassin rogue and a Bard (soon to be a melee/de-buffer) and a new player joining soon, possibly playing an archer (new to D&D)

So I am unsure what to play. I feel the party lacks support/buffing. SO I am considering a Polearm Tempest cleric or possibly a GWF Ancients paladin. But some recommendation will never go amiss

Thanks

Are you guys playing a home game, or AL?

Is the rogue melee or ranged?

It looks to me like you could use another full caster, either a wizzy/sorc or cleric/druid. Cleric/druid is better if you need someone in melee range, wiz/sorc is better if you can stay back with the archer.

I'd probably go tempest or arcana cleric, going warcaster with shield+1h and grabbing a scag melee cantrip. You will progress into a full spellcaster later.
My other recommendation would be a wizard. Your party could certainly use a dedicated caster.
