View Full Version : Player Help Question about creating a character, specificlly Goliath.

I dont have the PHB yet, im creating my first d&d character and im looking up the info on the googles about creating my goliath barbarian, half of the sites say they get +2 Str and +1 Con, others say, +4 Str +2 Con -2 Dex. Id prefer the latter of the two but you tell me.
Also some say they have a movement of 30 some say 40.

The latter is the old 3.5 system, I believe.

If you're playing 5th edition D&D, you would use the former: +2 Str and +1 Con.

And their movement speed is 30.

Aww, thats too bad, i wanted an op goliath for my first character. Thanks tho!

The 5th edition Goliath has +2 to str +1 to con speed is 30

Also, Goliaths aren't in the PHB, they are in a supplement called Elemental Evil Players Compendium, which is free to download from Wizards.

The only "PC" races that have negative modifiers are the ones for NPCs in the back of the DMG. Become a zombie who trades his Undead Fortitude for -6 Int, -4 Wis, and -4 Cha!

Be careful looking up information online. A lot of it is homebrewed and not accurate to the PHB. Borrow another player's book or go to a hobby store to make your character. Then you won't mess up.
