Scenarios: The Ambush at the Arena

Well, this thread is about what could have happened when the Linear Guild ambushed the Order during the gladiatorial games (and did not happen).

There is one main point for me: what would have happened, had Haley, Elan and V remained near Tarquin? Belkar and Roy were in the arena. Tarquin may have helped. The cover may have been blown much earlier. Durkon would probably not have met Nale, since they met because Elan was looking for Durkon. The woman whose husband was murdered would not have been freed and would not have joined up with Enor, Ganji and Ian. Would Tarquin have taken the chance to see which of his sons was better? How could the presence of the public influence his actions?

The other question is, what would have happened, had Haley been reverted to flesh before being brought back to dimension?

If they didn't leave Tarquin's side, Nale would have never sprung the trap. He only attacked because they split up and he had an opportunity. Thog was never part of their plan, they were just leaving him in the arena where he couldn't cause any trouble. Once Roy was busy with him, Belkar was in the cells, and the others away from Tarquin, Nale took a chance and attacked.

Had he never played his hand, he would have realized they were there for the gates and not him, and the story would have played out the same as it did when the Order left the first time. Tarquin knew Nale was lurking around, he was just waiting to see what his plan was. (He didn't know Z was part of his team, for instance)


Wouldn't the same spell that reverted Haley to full size still work if she's a living being? She'd just have to stomp her foot or something, wouldn't she?
