I took a look at the base class from School of Evocation and it was really, really good. Like, brokenly good. How did someone manage to print something that gets free metamagic from level one without realizing it was going to be broken?

I know itīs rude to answer a question with a question, but why do you think 3pp material has such a bad rep (that led to fetishizing WotC RAW)?
