Roughly a half hour later, the finalists with the Badge of Nessus (including Dirk) sit together and begin the final hand of Golem. Ten minutes goes by, and Dirk has already won two hands.

Some woman drops a bunch of chips on the floor. It's a minor disturbance to the side, but doesn't impact you or anyone at the game of Golem. A few seconds later one of the braziers at the end of the room erupt in bright flashes of color and reports and screaming noises. Daevan manages to shut his eyes in time to keep from getting blinded as he hears the shouts of others (and a pair of large felines yowling).

A woman with a strong and sonorous voice calls out "All right, folks! Drop to the ground and don't try anything stupid and we might let you live!"

Begin Round One ...

R1T24: Dirk is a quick man. He jumps up on his feet and casts shield.

R1T23-22: Two men towards the back move forward and use saps to knock out two bouncers.

R1T19-16: Four blinded bouncers are trying to regain their wits ...

R1T15.5: The crowd, in general ... half of the patrons drop to the ground as ordered, but others begin to panic, convinced they've been blinded permanently.

R1T15: A thug with a sap tries to KO a bouncer, but the blinded man is bouncing around too wildly (and with the noise has no idea he's being attacked).

R1T14: Out of the corner of his eye, Daevan sees a white-haired man whose skin suddenly glistens. He then suddenly lifts 15' in the air and he casts shield on himself. A flapping bat accompanies him.

R1T12: Yet another thug moves and clobbers out cold another bouncer.

R1T11: A tall man with a widow's peak holding a scroll and a wand moves to the center of the room to take a guarding position by the prize chest.

R1T10: A bald, dark-skinned foreigner in light clothing does some type of physical gestures that look more physical than any kind of spell action. He moves up to one of the thugs that previously knocked out a bouncer, and in moving he draws out a sword that looks odd.

R1T9: Daevan ... chaos. What do you do?

R1T9: Daevan draws upon the powers of Al'Kra, his image starting to blur as he moves towards one of the obvious thugs, taking care to avoid the others and stay away from them. After he stops 10' away, he looks the man dead in the eye, Al'Kra's power sending a powerful chill down his spine, causing him to be shaken and suffering 8 NL.I noticed that the Murder Master is really wide open and non-specific on what damage rolls it enhances. Therefore, murder master enhances the damage from paranoid chill.
End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

R2T25: A woman in masterwork leather and with a rapier moves to stand next to the chest where the man with the wand and scroll are. "That's it, boys! Keep 'em occupied!" she yells.

R2T24: Dirk stands on his chair and gets right up onto the table. "C'mon, lady! It's a party. Let's enjoy the revels!"

He casts a spell you recognize as hideous laughter. The woman with the sword immediately stops giving encouragement and support to her goons. She gets a dumbstruck look, and then she breaks out into raging shrieks and laughter, falling onto her knees, and then doubling over and continuing to laugh and roll on the floor.

R2T23: The goon fighting the brown-skinned foreigner swings his sap but the latter blocks it with a rising, circular forearm maneuver.

R2T22: People around Daevan shriek in terror - something seems to be looming around him that Daevan himself cannot see. In fear Daevan's opponent drops his sap, draws his rapier and dagger and swings (not thrusts) the former wildly.

R2T19-16: A bouncer pulls out a club and without reservation of life swings and amazingly connects for 4 (though blind). His other two fellows are still blind.

R2T15.5: Crowd still screaming and in disarray - prone or running about.

R2T15: Though he took a brutal blow to the stomach from a blind guard, that is enough for the goon to drop his sap, take out his rapier and dagger, and stab the poor guard in his right shoulder with his rapier for 11 (dropping him).

R2T14-13: The man with white hair draws his scimitar while flying down to the woman on the ground and his scimitar then begins to glow. As she rolls around he uses a two-handed strike with his scimitar to crack her spine for 17 damage + 6 DEX. She stops laughing and is motionless. The albino's bat flies down to just above him.

R2T12: One of the thugs moves up to a blinded guard. The goon swings the sap several times, but that only serves to alert the bouncer. The goon swings badly, and without hurting the bouncer the sap goes right into the bouncer's hand, and the latter quickly finishes plucking it away from the now disarmed goon. :smallredface:

R2T11: The man with the widow's peak casts a spell from the scroll. As the scroll disappears, the chest itself diminishes to the size of something very fine in size and vaguely cloth-like. The man picks it up.

"I work security here," he shouts over the din to the white-haired man near him. "I've got this covered, but help my bouncers, they're blind and dropping fast!"

R2T10: The brown-skinned man is fighting to a draw with his opponent, though apparently with great unarmed skill.

R2T9: Daevan, what do you do?

Dirk on deck, a couple thugs (including yours) in the hole ...

R2T9: Daevan turns his gaze on the Thug armed with a Rapier that had downed one of the Bouncers. Tilting his head back, he lets out a gutteral roar, the energy of it almost homing in on that Thug to horrify the man. The man gives some sort of squeamish chirp!

R2T5: A snake suddenly appears on the opposite side of that same terrified man (as Daevan if he had closed, for which he had no need). It darts forth to bite at the man but reflexes are a funny thing in a man mortified, and he mananges to reflexively stab the thing once, mortally, before it ever had the chance. The snake disappears.

End Round 2, Begin Round 3 ...

R3T24: Dirk springs off the table, bounds between patrons, and gets to the side of the spellcaster that shrank the chest into a cloth. "Don't worry, sir, you're still a target carrying that. I'll cover you."

R3T23: A goon makes this phenomenally lucky upper cut to the brown-skinned man's jaw that lifts him up and over and back to land on top of a bounder's table and crashing through to the ground, knocked out.

R3T22: The one Daevan previously scared doesn't mess with the monster-man and he instead moves against a bouncer and konks him out cold with his sap.

R3T15: With no viper to bar his path, the frightened thug - courtesy of Devil-Dave's dire delivery - decidedly dashes out the door.

R3T14: With the bat following close behind, the white-haired man dashes to the one that knocked out the foreigner. It is a poor swing and the goon dodges.

R3T12: Without his sap, the embarrassed sap draws rapier and dagger and stabs him through the heart for 20, dropping the man instantly.

R3T11: The man with the widow's peak than shouts out, "Loot what you will, boys!" He begins casting a spell, focusing on the cage above with the imp, but it seems that Dirk was actually readied for this, not having fully believed the man was in charge of security. Dirk slices him along the neck for 5, but the man masterfully maintains control of his spell. Old Scratch's cage opens ...

R3T9: Devil-Dave, what do you do?

R3T9: Daevan closes on the man with the Widows peak. When he was in the mountains and moving with Dirk, Daevan hadn't really pushed himself. But now, as he needs to clear through the wild mess of people he finds he moves faster than he thought he could. He positions himself properly right in front of the man and lets loose with a sense of the horrors that lie beyond ... horrors that shock the man, but do not frighten him. Truly, he must dabble in dark work, indeed.

R3T9: An eagle suddenly appears right above a thug. It instantly screes and its talons glow and it attacks the man and talons him along the head for 5 before trying to fly past but gets hit by his rapier for 4 before clearing.

End Round 3, Begin Round 4 ...

R4T23-22: The thug that was just raked by the eagle starts stealing from patrons, as does the one that Daevan had scared.

R4T21: Old Scratch emerges from his cage and starts flapping about and shouting in his ugly language. He looks at the thug who is now a murderer for a second without saying anything, and then continues to harass.

R4T14: The white-haired man, that Daevan can now see as an albino half-elf, casts a true strike and opens himself up to attack from the widow-peaked caster's sickle (who misses badly). Then, with the other hand the half-elf attacks with his scimitar for 9.

R4T12: The thug-murderer goes to the Ghoulette table and clumsily stabs at something underneath.

R4T11.1: Dirk moves up to the man stabbing under the table and stabs him in the back - right in the back - for 22 and 1 bleed as the man falls from a ventilated lung.

R4T11: The man with the widow's peak goes to touch Daevan and with blinding speed that far exceeds even Daevan's own expectations, he just manages to dodge away from what now looks like sparks of electricity at the tip of the wand. With that miss, the man turns to escape and the white-haired man makes a brilliant brow cut for 11 + 3 bleed, dropping him.

R4T9: Devil-Dave, what do you do?

If your timing is right, that eagle will probably do something again, and then a few looting thugs after that.

R4T9: With the apparent leader down, Daevan turns on the nearest thug, and lurches towards it, taking advantage of his long arms to let out an attack from out of the Thugs reach. His arm goes out a great distance and his claw slashes across the man for 7 - much greater power than Daevan had expected - and disables him. He doesn't fall, but it won't take much.

R4T5: The wildly hair-colored gnome comes out from under the table and directs the eagle at the man Daevan attacked. The eagle swoops down and the man fumbles trying to hit it but wards the eagle away as it continues past. The man seems to be confused by all of the stimulus.

End Round 4, Begin Round 5 ...

R5T23: The same thug shakes his head and tries to regain his senses.

R5T22: The only other thug, the one Daevan attacked, tries to bolt but not before Daevan drops him for 10.

R5T9: Daevan drops to a seat and watches Dirk at work - content, knowing that the fight is over - while resisting Al'kra's temptations to kill the fallen.

R5T5: The eagle swoops down on the last thug again and rakes his head for 3, but the man manages to stab and dispel the summoned creature before it is able to fly away. The little gnome takes advantage of the eagle's momentary distraction; she takes out a sickle and tries to trip the man at the ankles, but she isn't strong enough and she drops her sickle rather than get pulled out on the floor by the man.

That's okay, because two creatures both finally clear their blindness at the same time. A feline creature - about 3' at the shoulder - comes in and bites the man in the neck for 2. It's not a powerful bite, but enough to drop him. Another of a similar type comes in from the other side and bites the unconscious man in the belly for 4. The gnome says something in an unknown language, and both felines stop attacking (but are still menacing).

"It's okay!" she calls to the man that was flanking with her (Dirk). "I'll check this one; check the others." She says something in the language again, and the guarded nature they had splitting their focus now has their focus entirely off of Dirk and on the fallen man.

At this point, the bouncers and the rest of the patrons all are getting their eyesight back, realizing that they aren't permanently blinded, but still confused.

End Round 5, Begin Round 6 ...

R6T14: The white-haired half-elf returns to a guarded position at the chest, his bat flapping near him.

R6T11: "Yeah," he shakes his head and backs away from the kitties. "I'll get right on that."

He heads over to Daevan. "How are you doing? Looks like we both got through this without a scratch." Looking at your still wounded body, he amends that, "... well, no new scratches, anyway.

R6T9: Daevan, all enemies are apparently KO/ dying / dead. What do you do?

R1T26: Devil-Dave reveals himself, placing himself behind his boss [Seltyiel?] and staring down one of the men, drawing upon the Tall Man's power to incite an unprecedented amount of fear into that man. The man is flat-footed so cannot even vocalize (yet), so it's not known if DD was successful or not.

R1T20: These men haven't pulled out their short swords (yet), so Sajan doesn't have his temple sword out. He does come in, though, right up to the first one. He throws a shin kick at his right forearm for 5 NL.

R1T16: The man counters with a punch but Sajan easily dodges.

R1T15: Seltyiel casts shield on himself, and then flies up to an altitude of 15' (and Dhargenti, his bat, flying up with him).

R1T14-13: A thug steps up to Sajan, next to the leader, and kicks Sajan in the knee for 3, causing some real injury. A third steps to the other side of the leader and swings but Sajan ducks.

R1T10-5: As random luck would have it, you see Dirk stand up at his table and cast a spell ... which happens to get the thug in the back that hadn't done anything yet (that was random as well), and whether or not that man was affected by DD's terror-gaze is unknown. The man goes into full rallies of guffaws and falls onto the ground, laughing. And that is what passes for that man's turn as well.

R1T4: Lini, one of the greeters, points to one of the baddies and says something in Rural Snow Leopard (being a druid, she doesn't like using Urban Snow Leopard) to Droogami, her (small) animal companion and Droogami moves forth and attacks one of the thugs - standing on its hind legs and leaping up to bite the man in the face for 4. Another snow leopard (for some reason, the name of this one changes :smallconfused:) moves forth to threaten the same one.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

R1T26: DD, what do you do? You can move up to one of the "side" thugs that are on either side of what might vaguely pass as the leader, but Sajan is blocking the front side of the same; you threaten with your reach, though. 2 snow leopards are on the side of one of the thugs. No flanking unless you spend a round to go all the way around.

R2T26: Devil-Dave focuses his gaze and powers on the lead thug, inspiring an unprecedented amount of fear into him. The man shouts in terror!

R2T20: Sajan hits the lead thug once for 7 NL, dropping him unconscious (and stopping his screaming. He then throws a glancing blow to Droogami's prey for 4 NL.

R2T15: Seltyiel casts an unknown spell on himself.

R2T14-13: Droogami's man, his bell still ringing from Sajan's strike, turns to run. Sajan misses but Droogami bites the man in the lower back for 5 (max), dropping him. The other standing thug punches Sajan in his left upper arm for 2.

R2T10: Dirk takes his dagger out on the run and gets behind that last thug who took a shot.

R2T5: Laughter still from the thug on the floor.

R2T4.2-.0: Both of the snow leopards finish off the last thug to have dropped from Droogami. Lini calls to them using all manner of noises that must be specific to those animals. She moves up behind Sajan. She doesn't approach though.

R3T26: DD, one thug is definitely dead, killed by snow leopards; one is unconscious; one is laughing uncontrollably on the ground; and the last is just fine and fighting Sajan at an angle. What do you do?

R3T26: Daevan repositions himself to flank with Dirk, using his reach to threaten the man. Rather than strike, he lets out a guttural roar at the last Thug. As he does so, everyone in the nearby vicinity starts with various degrees - standing still and staring, opening their mouth in horror and covering their mouth or eyes with their hand, a couple screams, and a woman even faints. Sure enough, the weak-willed target of DD's dread gives a loud scream of terror.

R3T20: Sajan throws a fist at the man's solar plexus while giving a focusing shout for 6 NL, and the man manages to catch his wind. Sajan then does a spinning kick where his body and head are below his hip but his left foot goes high in an arc on the man's chin with a crit for 12 NL, lifting the man up and to the side ... knocked unconscious.

R3T15: Seltyiel moves forward to the laughing man with his scimitar drawn and he makes a clean slice across the thug's stomach for 10, stopping the man's laughter.

R3T10: Dirk delays, checking for more danger.

R3T4.2-.1: Their quarry dead, and not having been directed further and with no other hostiles, the snow leopards stand by for Lini.

R3T4: Lini says something to the leopards and the cats relax yet are still wary. She moves up to the man with the belly slice and is trying to stabilize him.

R1T24-23: Both snow leopards' hackles raise as they sense the violence about to ensue.

R1T18: One of the goons doesn't even wait for Faje to give an order. He rushes one of the bouncers (they are still on the pier below) while drawing his short sword, stabbing him in the left shoulder for 5. (Just so you know, that is a grievous wound to this man.)

R1T17: Bouncer 1 (who just got stabbed) takes out his own short sword to join battle, taking advantage of the fact his opponent charged him to return a thrust to the aggressor's gut for 9 ... disabling him!

R1T16: Sajan moves down to engage, drawing his temple sword as he goes right up to Faje on a double-move.

R1T15: Devil-Dave, it would take a double-move to get off the ship, down the gangplank (aka, brow), and up to an opponent. Braddikar Faje is accompanied by two thugs. There is no means by which to charge. What do you do?

R1T15: Daevan moves into the fray, taking just a moment to call upon the Tall Man's power to protect him. He ends up standing right next to Braddikar Faje himself ...

R1T13: "Old Korvosa" is ready to fight Devil-Dave, it seems. "Devil-Dave," he spits. "I heard of you. I will smite your vile presence from this city with the power of my sword." He gives a really clumsy attack that DD easily dodges. It seems he over-committed his strength to the attack.

R1T12-11.8: Lini orders her snow leopards to attack. She casts shield on herself and moves down the gangplank. Both snow leopards race past her. Droogami gets up to Faje, while the leopard with the strange rune on its forehead (matched by one by Lini) goes for the wounded thug.

R1T11-8: A bouncer moves in and stabs the unattended thug in the side of the gut for 2. Another moves in but is blocked.

R1T2: That same thug lashes out at the one that wounded him to stab far more deeply in his stomach for 7.

R1T1: The final bouncer moves behind to flank that thug to stab him from behind for 7, disabling him.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

R2T18: The first thug bonks himself in the head with his pommel, stunning himself ... and then he falls over as he begins bleeding out.

R2T17: Bouncer #1 pulls back, wounded as he is.

R2T16: Sajan is going to try and end this fight more quickly as he acrobatically moves behind Faje. Here's where his plan falls apart with a terrible attack.

R2T15: Devil-Dave smiles and responds to the man who had attacked him. "Better creatures than you have tried and failed. I see no reason to believe that you shall succeed where death himself failed to claim me." He then thrusts forward with his claws, striking first to weaken the foe before aiming to drop him entirely, but Faje blocks both attacks with sword and shield.

R2T13: Braddikar wastes time mocking DD before launching a counter-attack with his full strength. The attack barely catches DD across the chest, and for all of his power Faje only does 1 mod. He stops his mocking.

R2T12-11.8: Lini takes out her sickle and cuts deep along the remaining thug's back calf, dropping him. Droogami catches Faje with a claw for 2. The other snow leopard savages the thug Lini dropped and she has to tell it to stop attacking.

R2T11-1: The bouncers back off ...

R3T16: Sajan steps around to the back of Faje, but his fist is blocked by his target's shield.

R3T15: Daevan laughs and launches another pair of attacks into the man, this time going more for a killing blow. His first claw cuts well into Faje for 10, but the second claw gets blocked by the man's armor.

R3T13: Faje adjusts his attack vector towards Sajan this time with full power, but misses.

R3T12-11.8: Lini casts a spell to spit a bit of acid at Faje, succeeding mildly for 1 acid. Droogami nibbles on the man for 2, but one of the snow leopard's claws actually crits his swordhand for 10. To the warrior's credit, he maintains the grip on his sword. The other leopard claws him for 3.

R3T11-1: The bouncers all delay ...

Begin Round One ...

R1T23: Hearing "something," Daevan quietly goes to investigate the noise. He gets out of bed carefully and steps over the five feet to the door. His focus on stealth is such that he doesn't quite get to open the door this round.

R1T17: RT1 charges B1, but he slides a little bit on the floor (having recently been mopped) and misses.

R1T16: B3 shouts and moves to get help and alert the place that there is an attack.

R1T15.8: DD notices that Droogami gets up suddenly, and nuzzles Lini to get her to awaken. Otherwise, Daevan doesn't notice anything amiss.

R1T13: A half-orc came through the glass right next to a bouncer. Seeing the bouncer hasn't done anything yet, shoots at him but misses.

R1T12: Sol gets out of bed next to his door and opens it.

R1T12-11: B5 comes out of the backroom of the kitchen, crosses the kitchen, and gets to the door, sword im hand. B4 takes out his short sword, steps up to flank RT1, and manages to get the charging man for 7.

R1T10: Dirk wakes and stands, grapping his rapier.

R1T9.5-9.3: Lini wakes up at Droogami's insistence, "What's the matter, boy?" she asks softly. She doesn't seem to notice Devil-Dave already up. She then stands. "Everybody up! Droogami senses trouble!"

That is more than enough to wake her Droogami-clone and Sajan. She grabs her spell component pouch. As the vestige-leopard gets to its feet.

R1T9: B1 is less successful at stabbing his flanked foe after getting out his short sword (and dropping his mop).

R1T8: Sajan instantly gets to his feet and girds his temple sword.

R1T7.5-7: B5 moves under the bar "lid" and over to the door while getting out his sword, and then opens the door behind the bar. With an arrow whizzing just past him, B2 draws his sword and attacks the half-orc right near him, slicing him in the chest for 3.

R1T6: RT2 gives chase after the bouncer that went shouting his head off.

R1T5: Hearing a ruckus Saul steps into the daily cash storage room and then opens the door to the guardroom.

R1T3-1: RT3 saw a bouncer in Goblin Tankard go behind the bar and open a door, so RT3 does a run across the floor up to the bar. RT4 steps up and engages B4.

R2T23: Daevan, you weren't sure what you heard .... glass breaking? But now with the snow leopard's senses, and Lini's shouting, it seems that your friends are now in battle mood ... at least until it can be determined what is spooking the leopard (and you). A fine table marred by a few nicks and scratches stands surmounted by a trio of gold candlesticks. The walls of this chamber are covered in thick purple tapestries depicting gold-threaded nymphs frolicking in a silver-threaded forest. The tapestries completely cover the door to area 30 (it's a secret door to those that don't know it) to prevent light from shining through into that chamber. Vancaskerin and his managment team (you and your other "PCs") take your meals in here.

From here, you definitely hear noises ... it sounds like through the tapestries you can hear a battle raging below in the main hall. Meanwhile, from the door to the north (which leads to the stairs down), you hear a man shouting about an attack.

R2T18: Seltyiel gets out of bed and grabs his scimitar as he can now easily hear the sound of combat.

R2T17: RT1 recovers from his charge to find he is nearly mortally wounded. Wanting no more of the battle he tries to withdraw, with B4 attempting to slice him as he quits the battle.

R2T16: B3 opens the door to continue shouting down the hallway from the heroes on that level, then spins to attack his pursuer, grazing him along the cheek for 2.

R2T13: Surprise gone, the half-orc really doesn't want to shoot anyone in lieu of killing anyone outright, anyway. He throws down his bow, draws his longsword, and gives a bestial roar and attacks, but it is a bad grip.

R2T12: Sol grabs his alchemy crafting kit, then runs down the hall, shouting for people to awaken.

R2T11.5: B5 pushes through the swinging kitchen door and then bolts south in hopes of getting to Saul to warn him.

R2T11: B4 steps forward to engage RT4, nicking him in the belly for 2.

R2T10: Dirk opens his door and heads out to the open door leading to the great hall, where he sees a bouncer fighting a thug.

R2T9.5: Lini grabs her sling and sling pouch.

R2T9: B1 goes over to help his friend against RT4, but his sword is blocked.

R2T8: Sajan teleports to the middle of the main hall, then moves south to engage the big half-orc that he sees.

R2T7.5: B6 moves into the NE hallway, shouting of an attack.
R2T7: B2 attacks the raging half-orc, but glances off the chain mail.
R2T6: RT2's face marred, he withdraws.
R2T5: Saul moves to the nearest door.

R3T23: Daevan heads straight towards the sound of the roar and call out to the others. "One of you check on that shouting!!"

He speeds well out onto the catwalks (area 30), using his ears to guide him, to get a sense of things below, where he sees a battle to the south end of the gaming hall. Where Daeven ends his move, he both smells and tremorsenses Old Scratch hiding out invisibly on the catwalks 10' from him.Old Scratch is an imp that somehow got impressed into Saul's service, and acts sometimes as a mascot, but otherwise normally hangs out around the catwalks. He is generally insulting (but otherwise has been harmless the entire time you've known it), but no matter what is happening, he only ever listens to Saul ... so you know that if you try to get it to help you, it won't listen.
R3T18: Seltyiel opens his door and steps out.

R3T16: B3 moves past Dirk to open the other door in side, revealing Sol and Seltyiel in the hallway, and B3 blubbers that thugs are attacking in the main hall.

R3T13: CT1 corrects a bad grip, and in the throes of a rage crits B2, severing a tendon along his jaw for 14 + 1 DEX, dropping the bouncer. CT1 then steps a few feet further into the hall and gives a challenging roar.

R3T12: With a speed that is more than expected (about as quickly as Daevan can move), Sol speeds well into the gaming hall. He doesn't have any weapons in hand, but he does have a dagger at his side, and is wearing a utility-like belt with various pouches (which he normally wears, but either he was still up, or took the time to put it on).

R3T11.5-11: B5 races into the rooms that include the counting cage. B4 moves to engage CT1, but as he attacks the half-orc, the bestial man shatters the bouncer's sword.

R3T10: Dirk casts expeditious retreat on himself. Far faster than even Sol, comes Dirk, who ends his movement side-by-side with the newcomer. It is obvious to Daevan that Dirk has magically aided his speed.

R3T9.5-.3: Lini moves to the north end of 27, followed by both of her snow leopards.

R3T9: B1 attacks CT1, but his blade is deflected by the half-orc's larger weapon.

R3T8: Sajan closes on the half-orc (CT1) and attacks. Only because the half-orc is so focused on aggression is Sajan's temple sword able to score a line against the point where chest meets abdomen for 6.

R3T7.5: B6 opens the door behind him, he steps through, then shuts the door.

R3T5: Saul stands at the doorway to the areas leading to the counting cage, looks at the main hall and shouts, "What in the Abyss is going on here?! Old Scratch, get down here and do something to help kill these interlopers!"

R3T4: Daevan no longer smells or tremorsenses Old Scratch.

R3T3: RT3 steps up, opens the door, and stabs B6 in the left shoulder for 6.

R4T23: Devil-Dave, you see one active combatant - CT1 - who is being pressed by Sajan and 2 bouncers (B1 and B4, both unwounded). R4T23: Daevan moves further along the catwalk, using one of his claws to tear the space around him, and then instantly uses that space to quickly move himself down from the catwalk to directly behind one of the foes in order to catch it by surprise. It actually makes B1 and B2 jump more, even Sajan flinches a bit, but CT1 seems to be in some type of blood fury. Also, Daevan sees the body of a bouncer (B2) on the ground.

R4T18-16: Seltyiel, followed close by his bat familiar Dhargenti, move speedily out to the center of the floor, trying to figure out what's happening, and then by B3.

R4T13: CT1, totally giving into his fury rather than allow himself to thought a coward, smiles when he sees Sajan, and hacks at him. He powers through Sajan's attempt to deflect and cuts his left bicep for 11, a deep and biting wound indeed. The half-orc then steps back, and readies his shield. It is clear to Daevan that not only is this half-orc a barbarian, but definitely clear and solid fighting skills above those of the bouncers (or the other thugs, for that matter).

R4T12: Sol takes out a small tablet and pops it. The air shimmers directly in front of him briefly.Devil-Dave recognized not only the effects os a shield, but that Sol must be an alchemist, investigator, or the like ... for he used an alchemical extract rather than casting a spell.Then, without any weapon in hand, he moves right up into the half-orc's grill.

R4T11.5-11.0: B5 comes out of the counting area and helps to surround the half-orc, standing over his fallen fellow. B4, lacking any weapon (there are remains of a shattered sword on the floor), pulls his bleeding friend closer to him, but with murderous cruelty, the half-orc hacks at the fallen body as it moves, but misses due to interference from Sol and B5.

R4T10: As a precaution, Dirk casts shield on himself, but holds his position.

R4T9.5-9.3: Lini and her cats move.

R4T9: B1 delays...

R4T8: Sajan shoots a small blast of fire at the half-orc, but it strikes him perfectly for 13 fire, which looks like it should've dropped him, and yet the monster keeps fighting, despite having caught fire.

R4T7.5: B6, bloodied, withdraws upstairs in hope of getting help.

R4T5: It's almost as if Saul is running away? Devil-Dave isn't sure, but Saul totally bypassed the battle and is heading north in the room. He does shout out, though, "Dammit, Sajan or someboy! Put out that fire!"

R4T3: RT3 gives chase after the bloody bouncer.

R5T12: Sol Flood leaves a burning figure to burn on the carpet a little, quickly going over to a fallen bouncer and applying first aid.

R5T11.5-11: Bouncer #5 does a coup de grace on the burning corpse. Bouncer #4 stops on it to put the fire out.

R5T8: Sajan puts down his sword and offers what assistance he can to Sol to save his co-worker's life.

R5T5.1-.0: Saul calls out, "Old Scratch! You see anyone that doesn't belong here, you give 'em hell!" He looks to Devil-Dave. "Follow me while we make sure the rest of the place is secure." He then moves out quickly. Daevan, already having moved some to catch up with Saul, falls behind.Basically, I had you "ready" your SA>>MA that remained to follow, but Saul still gets to double-move.
R5T3: RT3 slashes at Droogami and backs down to the landing.

R6T12: Sol calls out that the bouncer is stable, and he thanks Sajan for his assistance.

R6T11: Bouncer #4 picks up the longsword that the dead half-orc thug had, since his own

R6T9.4-.3: Commanded by Lini, Droogami comes down the stairs and attacks the thug, slashing him in the upper right arm for 2. Lini follows and casts acid splash and misses. The eidolon snow leopard moves up.

R6T5.1-4.9: Devil-Dave holds up a little so he can better follow Saul. Once he catches up, Saul has gone past the bar to the northwest wing of the goblin, and right up to an open door that leads upstairs. Both of you hear a battle on the stairs. "Keep going!" Saul tells you.

R6T4.9 (Cont'd): Devil-Dave heads into the staff lounge (14) and then up the stairs and get to the second half when you find yourself on the stairs below a Riddleport thug that has been scratched by one of the kitties. Cattie-corner from you, you see Droogami on the stairs above the thug (who is on a landing).

R6T3: The thug (RT3) stabs weakly at DD, but is otherwised cornered.

R7T9.4: Droogami goes to bite at the thug, but the man actually catches him on the attempt and trips Droogami, who then falls down the stairs into Devil-Dave, who in turn is caught by surprise. Both mutated man and snow leopard tumble down the stairs and into the staff lounge below. (Droogami takes 5, and DD takes 4, and both are prone.)

R7T9.35: A sling bullet is seen bouncing off the thug's armor.

R7T9.3: The snow leopard eidolon (SLE) moves past Lini and takes the place where Droogami was. It bites the man in the left foot for 4.

R7T5: Saul moves in, stepping over the leopard and DD, and moves upstairs.

R8T4.9: Devil-Dave rushes towards the noise as fast as he possibly can. He moves north along the corridor until it comes to a "T", and assuming that it does not come the way he just came, he goes the other way - towards the west. He opens the door. The space beyond is the scullery (Area 13). A wooden tub holds grimy water and a smattering of soapsuds for cleaning the multitude of platters, trenchers, jacks, and cutlery used in the Gold Goblin. Firewood is stored just outside the back door and is distributed to the hall’s various fireplaces once per day. The door that leads outside seems to have taken some damage, as if something on the outside was beating on it to get inside.

R9T4.8: "I heard something over this way." Daevan responds gruffly, preparing himself as he goes to open the door. When he opens the door, what he sees outside are two thugs that are pretty much like the others he's seen. It's the figure that is now nose-to-nose with Daevan that is of concern. He is a half-orc, but one with reddish-skin like you've never seen before!

End Round 9, Begin Round 10 ...

R10T9.35-.2: Lini comes into view and sees DD and the muscular, red half-orc. She calls out a command to her leopards. Both Droogami and the SLE (snow leopard eidolon) bound into the room with DD. "Daevan, bring them into the room instead of keeping at the doorway."

R10T7.8: The big half-orc smiles. "I see you, Saul. Imma comin' for you, stubby, soon as I'm done with this fool here." Looking at Devil-Dave, he doesn't seem to hold that open or hidden fear that many have when looking at you. He sweeps his foot slowly in a tight arc along the ground and takes up an odd stance with his arms bent at the elbows and hands made into a wedge shape. Daevan has only the vaguest sense of combat styles (which is more than the common man), and doesn't recognize what he's doing. He sends out a probing kick and thrust with his hand that DD easily evades. Though not landing, it still seems like that was a "useful probe" as the half-orc smiles like he has learned something.

R10T5: "Jasker Gant, eh?" remarks Saul. "Devil-Dave, be careful. Jasker Gant is one of Boss Croat's favorite caps. I will get help." And with that Saul is gone.

R10T4.9: DD, do you step into the corner of the room (or even further in), or keep your position at the doorway? What do you do?

R10T4.9: Daevan quickly scratches the air around him, tearing the very space around him and then leaps into the hole, appearing on the opposite side of Jasper. He then lashes out a claw into the mans backside before he has a chance to realize he has appeared there. Jasker does manage to spin around to parry, but not before he takes a raking 10 across the chest.

R10T2: RT5 comes around in a wide arc so as not to get hit, but as moves around Daevan's long claw comes out at him but misses terribly. RT5 does the final close, only to find that DD again attacks him, his nails actually slashing the man's back for 11 (max), enough to drop the man in one blow.

End Round 10, Begin Round 11 ...

R11T9.35-9.3: Lini can be heard giving a command. A sling bullet goes zooming past Jask's head and into the night beyond. SLE bites Jask with a crunch to his intercostals for 5 + sickened! Both claws are knocked aside by Jask's fists.

R11T7.9: RT6 sidestesp to now be over his fallen friend. He stabs with his short sword in Devil-Dave's body with as much power as he can muster, yet it only does 1 mod. "What - what are you?!"

R11T7.8: Jasker continues his strange stance, but stepping off the lone step by the door to now flank DD with RT6. He does a snap kick to DD's knee for 3 (min, and it seems that he is in pain from the leopard-eidolon's bite), and though there is supernatural heat coming from his kick, the heat doesn't affect DD. He sends out two other attacks, but DD blocks these with large, sweeping motions of his own arms.

R11T4.9: Daevan growls at the thug, "Your worst nightmare." He then tears another hole in the air, jumping through it to the other side of the thug and lashes his claw into that one, tearing into his back for 10 and dropping him.

End Round 11, Begin Round 12 ...

R12T9.35: DD can hear Lini casting speak with animals from inside the building. She then speaks a strange language, and obviously not to DD.
R12T9.3: The snow leopard eidolon (SLE) comes out of the door. Jasker kicks it, but doesn't penetrate its hide. It continues to move and Jasker seems to recover from some pain he was in and strikes true this time for 7 + 1 fire. It still continues to move, and Jasker proves how very fast his reflexes are by attacking again for 8 + 1 fire. SLE snaps, but misses.
R12T9.2: Droogami comes out and a little further than just the front step, and Jasker still is fast enough to attack, but misses. Jasker deflects Droogami's attack as well.

R12T7.8: The animals seem to have given Jasker an avenue by which to escape, but the half-orc doesn't take it. Instead, he continues to fight in the strange, wide-limbed, defensive martial art. He does a crane kick to SLE's front leg to shatter it and make SLE disappear! He then attacks Droogami with two strange, pinch-handed attacks that miss.

R12T4.9: Daevan steps onto the fallen foes, and reaches out with both of his claws to take swipes at Jasker. Jasker deflects the first attack, but not the second as he is clawed across the face for 11.

End Round 12, Begin Round 13 ...

R13T9.35: Lini steps outside, Devil-Dave's posture making her aware of the threat in the corner even as she draws her sickle. She slashes but is blocked by a kick.

R13T9.3: Droogami attacks Jasker. He crits on the bite, spinning Jasker around and doing 5, and making him flat-footed.

R13T7.8: Jasker, flat-footed, drops his strange combat style and instead puts everything he can into an assault against Lini. He misses his first attack but goes into a speed-crouch to smash her left foot with his right elbow for 10 + 1 fire, then his other elbow into her stomach for 9 + 3 fire ... enough to drop her! :eek:

R13T4.9: Devil-Dave, Lini might be in trouble as she has fallen and you don't know her situation. Jasker, though badly wounded, is still on his feet. What do you do?

R13T4.9: Devil-Dave lets out a dangerous growl and strikes at Jasper as though enraged, trying to tear him asunder with both claws and teeth. A claw slashes Jasker's throat for 5, as the other claw goes in the opposite direction and spears his right foot for 6. Devil-Dave then bites Jasker in the side for 6 for good measure. How Jasker is standing is beyond DD.

End Round 13, Begin Round 14 ...

R14T9.2: Droogami bites Jasker in his left elbow for 5, and claws him in the left shoulder for 2. And still, Jasker Gant will not fall. But it seems his skin is so hot he does 3 fire total to Droogami.

R14T7.8: The doomed half-orc doesn't run. Staggering, he drops the defensive martial art style he was adopting and sets forth a hard fist at Devil-Dave, but he is too wounded. Immediately after throwing that attack, he falls down ... stone dead.

R14T4.9: Devil-Dave, you killed the infamous Jasker Gant and his two cronies. Now what?

R15T4.9: Daevan steps away from Lini, hoping someone else will arrive to help. "This man, Jasker, came in this way, and Lini and I were fighting him. He took her down, and then I killed him. Saul said he was going to get help, but for now, someone needs to help her." He's gesturing towards Lini's condition, hoping that Dirk can help her.

R15T2-1: Seltyiel and Dhargenti come out, and spill out along the path to give way to the obvious need for Lini to have a rescue effort of some kind.

End Round 15, Begin Round 16 ...

R16T21: Another half-orc thug (CT2) appears to the west from the alleyway, shooting an arrow at Devil-Dave. He wasn't well-hidden, and his almost asthmatic huffing-and-puffing gave him away, so by the time he shot the arrow, DD dodged deftly.

R16T19: Sol comes sprinting out, past his friends, and having spotted danger closes on the half-orc.

R16T15: Dirk takes out a potion and feeds it to Lini, giving her 10. This is enough to make Lini conscious. "Okay, battle was just renewed, but you need to stay down, or at least out of the way."

R16T9.35: Still looking very badly wounded, Lini doesn't try to get up. She does see the half-orc, though, and points to him. "Droogami .... kill."

R16T9.2: Droogami looks at the half-orc and then bolts forth, zipping round Sol, to bite the doomed man in the right calf for 4.

R16T6.5-.0: Two more human thugs come up from the alley, but not wanting to get chomped by the snow leopard, take the long way around some foiage to threaten Droogami and Sol. Their detour cost them an attack this round.

R16T4.9: Devil-Dave, with Lini alive, coherent, and surrounded by friends, what do you do?

R16T4.9: Daevan will step out in front of Lini, taking up a defensive stance and prepares himself to protect her. He looks at the enemies that have come in, and lets out a fierce bestial roar at them, like a mother protecting her children.

R16T3: B3 (bouncer) comes out and moves towards the enemy.

R16T2: Seeing a congested combat area, Seltyiel delays, and commands Dhargenti to do the same.

End Round 16, Begin Round 17 ...

R17T21: At the same time Devil-Dave howled, the half-orc gritted and shouted to overcome the roar with his own force of will. He failed, but sometimes anger lashing out in fear is dangerous, too. He drops his bow, takes out his longsword and hacks down for 13 on Droogami. It is a terrifying blow that barely leaves Droogami standing, and elicits a cry of concern and fear from Lini.

R17T19: Sol steps against the building and concentrates, and a wide-ball of fire appears in front of him and rolls towards RT8. DD has no idea what he is looking at. RT8 deftly gets out of the way.

R17T18: B5 enters the fray.

R17T15: Dirk looks to Sol, impressed. "Flaming sphere? Well done. I, too, am a lover of fire," he says as he moves north and around vegetation. "But sometimes I have to live a little closer to my name." To punctuate this, he stabs RT8 in the neck with his magical dirk for 14, dropping him. RT8 falls, and without his agility to protect him, he falls right into the fiery orb for 11 fire, being killed instantly!

R17T8: Sajan follows Dirk into the vegetation.

R17T9.35-.2: "Droogami, come!" Lini calls as she takes out a scroll and reads it, being healed of 9. DD hears terror in her voice. Droogami withdraws, even trying to do so acrobatically, but RT7 stabs the snow leopard in his flank for 3, which is still enough to drop Droogami. This only brings forth an anguished cry from Lini.

R17T7.5: B6 bravely comes out and takes his place to battle the raging half-orc and the thug.

R17T6.5: RT7 and B6 immediately begin clashing swords.

R17T4.9: Devil-Dave, what do you do?

R17T4.9: Daevan growls at the foes, looking at the bouncers that have joined the fray but not yet started fighting. "You two!! Take the leopard and bring it to safety. We'll handle these ourselves."

Daevan then points at the Half-Orc that hit Droogami. "You messed with the wrong people," Daevan says in an almost otherworldly voice, channeling Al'Kra's power into his words to strike true fear into the Half-Orc's mind. As he does, he slowly starts towards the fray.

R17T3: B3 puts away his sword and tries to grab Droogami's body, but is dealing with Big Floppy Kitty syndrome.

End Round 17, Begin Round 18 ...

R18T21: The half-orc thug withdraws, running off-map, where you will not see him again.

R18T19: Sol controls the flaming ball, and it hits the remaining thug for 10 fire, dropping him.

R18T18: B5 puts his sword away, and grabs the rest of Droogami.

R18T15: With the flaming sphere moved, Dirk rushes forward, takes out a potion and puts it in Droogami's mouth to heal it for 7. Droogami roars awake, in the hands of two terrified bouncers who realize they just aren't getting paid enough for this.

R18T4.9: Daevan looks around after the foe he had scared fled. Once happy that the thug had actually left, he turns back to the rest. "Is that all of them?"

R18T4: Old Scratch suddenly appears next to one of the fallen thugs (RT5), but the imp has his stinger in the man's neck.

R18T2: Seltyiel steps over and beheads the other thug (RT6) lying by Old Scratch.

R19T19: Sol moves the sphere off the man to keep from burning him. He screams out, "Seltyiel! What the hell is wrong with you? We don't have to kill them! I'm not surprised by the imp, but you?"

R19T15: Dirk checks the burnt thug (R7) and checks him. "I don't know."

As Daevan slogs over, something happens in his body. Without impacting his ability to hold weapons or slow his land speed, webbing grows lightly between his fingers and toes. While not quickly, Daevan discovers he can effortlessly swim to that location. It is no faster than he could normally swim, given his own enhanced speed, but he now does so with a grace he didn't have before.

He takes a careful look around. He sees two huddle figures hiding above on the swampy earth to the south of him, so he knows when something happens, that is where it is coming from.

Surprise Round ...

S23: Sure enough, the trap is triggered as one of the figures shoots a bow at Daevan, hitting him squarely and obviously, but the arrow merely shattering!

S21: Daevan, just south of you, you see two figures - one of whom just hit you with an effective shortbow arrow. What do you do?

S21: Daevan will swim up to the shore and climb back onto land, bringing out his claws as he stands up straight, he glares at the two men. "You messed with the wrong man," he says threateningly to ... wait, that isn't a man!

S20-15: An arrow comes in from the north, as a third figure is spotted across the way, and it hits Daevan in the lower kidney for 8 mod, a cheap shot if ever there was one. Worse, this ambush sickens Daevan. The one Daevan faces off against bites at Daevan, gnawing against his hide.

S11: Sol flies a little closer.

S9: An arrow flies from a northeastern hillock hit the attacker that shot Daevan from the north, hitting it in the neck for 15.

End Surprise Round, Begin Round One ...

R1T23: W3 makes an incredible show of acrobatics while drawing his dagger, and yet bites Daevan when he gets to the west. He went low, so this guy bites Daevan in his right foot for 5 ... the crunching nature of the bite such that the Daevan feels the entire attack.

R1T21: Daevan, there are two humanoid creatures on this hillock attacking you. W3 has a dagger in one hand and a bow in the other, but bit you with is narrow snout. You are also adjacent to W2, who just has a bow in hand. There seems to be a firefight happening 30' north of you as well, between a third of these icky guys and a white-haired elf on land. What do you do?

R1T21: Daevan glares at the one that just bit him, and opens his jaw wide to get a vicious bite in on its right lower leg, but Daevan feels too sickened to bite through its hide. He then follows up his attack with both of his claws, aiming to tear the creature to shreds. The second claw doesn't get past its hide, but these things are so wildly agile the first claw doesn't come close.

R1T20-15: W2 gets into flanking position and slashes Daevan in the left hand for 4 mod, seemingly skilled with dirty fighting. He snaps with a bite as well, but misses. W1 shoots at the newcomer on the hill, an arrow going past the hill-archer's cheek for 4.

R1T11: Sol flies above the surface of the water to flank with the thing that just slashed Daevan's hand. Taking out a light mace as he does so he swings and misses.

R1T9: The archer on the hill shoots at his opponent, hitting him in the right elbow for 13, causing W1 to let out a piercing cry of pain.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

R2T23: W3 slashes Daevan across the side of the neck for 7 mod, perfectly returning the blow Daevan had just given him. He then bites Daevan in the chest for for 4 mod, the dirty fighting tactics while flanking taking their toll.

R2T21: Daevan, you are still feeling sickened. What do you do?Do you try to figure out what it is you're fighting?

R2T21: Daevan growls a little, these foes have clearly got the upper hand on him, so he starts to fight a little bit more intelligently. Using his claws to slice the space around him, he distorts his positioning to help defend himself against his foes, and then lets out a roar, sending a chill down the spine of the closest foe. W3 seems to be shaken, and takes 3 NL.

When W3 lets out a squeak of barely-suppressed terror, Daevan suddenly has a flash of .... insight? memory? He is underground somewhere, and the smells are strong, but unlike this swamp, it is that of a sewer, and folk like these lead to his death. He is fighting ..... wererats!

R2T20-15: W2 cuts Daevan's upper right arm with his dagger for 9 mod, but then crits Daevan by biting his hand ...

R3T21: Daevan is definitely hurting, and his history with wererats that had previously led him to a death he does not remember causes him to finally feel fear for his own life. With the tear in space that he has created to distort his location, he tears further into it and leaps through, appearing 25' south of where he was, and draws upon Ubro's power to let out a burst of healing energy, primarily to help his own wounds.

R3T20: W2 turns on the man floating just above the water next to him. The wererat tries to fake him out before biting him, but Sol sees through the ruse so that the bite only grazes his left shoulder for 3 (min).

R3T11: With Daevan out of the way, Sol smiles and tries to concentrate on something, but nothing happens, so he drifts 5' away from the wererat more over the water.

R3T9-6: The distant archer gives something to a bird, and that bird double moves to circle behind Daevan. The bird is flapping and holds a vial of something in its talons, just above and near Daevan!

End Round 3, Begin Round 4 ...

R4T23: The swampy ground is all difficult terrain, so W3 makes his way all the way down to get to Daevan, but doesn't have enough in him to attack.

R4T21: Daevan, there is a birdy flapping 5' above the ground (as in 5' clearance that you could go under) with a vial of ... something in its talons. You cannot make a 5' free move on this ground because it is muddy/difficult terrain. You are facing off against W3.

R4T21: Daevan reaches out and snags the vial from the bird flying just above and behind him, but not before the wererat stabs at him, cutting against his thick hide. After Daevan grabs it, he'll tear another hole in the space near him to move further away from this wererat that chases him, appearing on the next jut of land over to the west.

R4T20: W2 is annoyed and drops his short sword, pulls out his bow, and shoots at Sol (missing).

R4T11: Sol hovers in position, takes out a few things from his belt to combined them in a vial and throws it at the one shooting him. It hits the wererat in the left shoulder and erupts for 14 fire!

R4T9: The distant figure to the north shoots at W2 with an arrow, but the creatures is insanely fast and just gets out of the way.

R4T6: The birdie goes back to the distant archer.

R5T23: Daevan's opponent gives chase, snapping at Daevan with his snout.

R5T21: Daevan, what do you do? You don't know why, but there is a weird, confusing effect coming over you. RP-type confusion and sense of displacement, not game condition "confused."

R5T21: Daevan steps away from his foe, but finds the difficult, sucking mud ground of the swamp doesn't make it easy, and the wererat bites him on the hip for 8. Daevan does step away though, and downs the potion, getting back the exact amount he had just suffered (8).

R5T20: W2 shrieks in anguish and pain and splashes right into the water to attack Sol with his dagger.

R5T11: Sol withdraw up into the air 10' above the water.

R5T9: W2 doesn't realize it, but he just entered a higher kill area of the mysterious archer, but being in the water helped and the arrow skips off the wererat's thick hide.

R6T23: W3 moves up and bites Daevan with a crit, possibly severing one of his intercostal muscles.

R6T21: Perhaps because he is barely alive, Daevan feels a prickliness all about him. He is already in a bit of a lather from the fight, but now he gets the flop sweats. He itches uncontrollably. Annoying to the point of anguish, but then things really happen to him as his already oversized joints are slightly rearranged ... but enough that it causes Daevan excruciating pain. It feels like all of the forward bones of his face break of their own accord, and his face is being pulled ... ripped ... forward. Meanwhile, his knees completely snap underneath him and his legs seem to wrench the wrong way.

"Daevan's" world grows black, and something else emerges....

R6T20: W2 shoots at Sol, missing.

R6T11: Sol throws down a small vial at his opponent. It misses, but breaks as it hits the water and a dark energy rushes out to do 1 NE to W2.

R6T9: The distant archer shoots at W2 and misses.

End Round 6, Begin Round 7 ...

R7T23: W3 stands before Daevan, but no longer seeks his blood. "Brother! I did not know. Come, let us feast on the meat that is here and I will take you back to safety."

He then withdraws from you and moves quickly to the central spur of swampy ground, taking out his bow as he goes.

R7T21: Daevan, youhave a deep, deep hunger for meat. And as wounded as you are you crave it now. Also, the one that was your enemy, you now sense is one of your own. Species survival kicks in, and you are powerless against it as he is not directly challenging you. There is a man flying above the water some distance away. Farther than that, is an archer who has been taking potshots this whole time, having killed at least one of your people.So, you are not a "pack of cool mechanics" to play as you will with the full player agency you might think you are entitled to. Sorry, but that is the way it is with this. Right now, you don't even quite have your full thought process .... powerful cunning, absolutely, but the main thoughts are primal and absolute with no chance to buck it at this time. This is your first "change" .... and you are a slave to it, not a "PC who does what he wants with the cool things."

R7T21: Daevan, no longer in his right mind, follows his overwhelming instincts and heads towards the nearest non-rat creature in his sight, which is Sol. Less choosy about terrain, he makes a beeline for Sol, even sloshing through heavy water to temporarily pass the wererat that just left him.

R7T20: Sol gets hit in the neck by W2's arrow for 6.

R7T11: Sol simply floats up another 5' (15' altitude) and then concentrates on his hand, from which sprouts a flame. He sends it down at W2 but misses and hits the water instead.That looks like produce flame, but he neither "cast" the spell nor did anything alchemical .... he simply willed the flame into existence.
R7T9: To the north, the archer now spots a new, bloody wererat and shoots an arrow. It hits Daevan squarely in his chest - totally unheeded by Daevan's spatial bleeding - for 10 full damage as the silver arrowhead stings. Daevan is barely standing, only giving in to the most feral anger that continues to move him.

End Round 7, Begin Round 8 ...

R8T23: W3, who sees Daevan is now an ally, is no longer shaken. He moves up near his friend while getting out his bow and then shooting at Sol, hitting him in the left shoulder with an arrow for 5.

R8T21: Daevan, the man you were thinking of going after is now just out of reach. What do you do?

R8T21: Now that Sol is out of his reach, Daevan starts off towards the Archer instead, out for blood. He surprises himself as he gets in the water that he swims better than he thought. He still isn't quite there with the archer just out of reach, but at least the water gives him cover.

R8T20: W2 shoots at Sol, but the arrow is deflected by something unseen.

R8T11: Sol gets another 5' of elevation and then sends down a gout of flame at W3, missing.

R8T9: The archer shoots an arrow at Daevan. Even with the cover of water the arrow hits solidly. The arrowhead stings, as it is made of silver, but that doesn't stop the fact that Daevan's strange and mutated form doesn't resist such a weapon as it only does 9 mod. Still, even that diminished blow is powerful enough to drop Daevan as he slumps into the water. The archer, which Daevan noticed was a white-haired elf before going unconscious, gives the bird a vial.

R8T6: The bird snatches the vial and heads off towards the flying man.

End Round 8, Begin Round 9 ...

R9T23: W3 shoots at the flying man. The arrow gets past the deflection field, only to be stopped by light armor.

R9T21: Daevan, roll a stabilization check ...

R9T21: Even weakened and unconscious, Daevan is extraordinarily resilient as his body stabilizes him and he stops bleeding.

R9T20: W2 shoots at Sol with an excellent shot hits him in the right foot for 3.

R9T11: Sol sends a gout of flame at W3 that misses, expending that ability, then grabs the potion from the friendly bird.

R9T9: Kwava shoots and misses W3.

R9T6: Ganmeed returns to Kwava.

Begin Round 11 ...

W3 shoots at Sol, as does W2.

Sol throws a bomb at W3, hitting him squarely for 7 fire, and W2 takes 6 fire from splash.

Kwava shoots a volley at W3. The second is stopped by thick fur but the first hits the were-man in the upper left arm for 7 mod.

Begin Round 12 ...

W3 and W2 shoot again, grazing Sol in the chest once for 1. W3 backs up a little.

Sol uses produce flame again and tosses a gout at W3.

Kwava shoots twice again, hitting W3 with an arrow in the right shoulder for 9 mod.

Round 13 ...

W3 is barely standing, but fires a brilliant shot that hits Sol in a very vulnerable spot for 14. W2 misses.

Sol takes a CLW extract to heal 5.

Kwava shoots twice at W3 again, with one arrow hitting in the head for 7 mod. The wererat falls, and the second arrow strikes for another 7 mod, killing him.

Round 14 ...

W2 shoots at Sol, missing. Sol hits him in the right elbow with flame for 8 fire.

Kwava shoots twice at the wererat in the water, with an arrow hitting for 9 mod, dropping him.

Round 15 ...

Sol flies down to W3, and hits him with his last gout of flame to make sure he is dead (he was). Kwava goes into the water while drawing his dagger. He stabs Daevan for 2 mod. Sol shrieks in anguish, "What're you doing!?"

Round 16 ...

Sol shouts, "Stop! That one is a friend. I didn't know he was a wererat, but he fought against them."

"Beasts fighting beasts is nothing new," says the white-haired elf, performing a coup de grace.

Sol, wounded and terrified, flies away.
