Yesterday I saw Peyton Manning near Loews Lincoln Square movie theater. I approached him and said "Hey you're Peyton Manning." He told me that he's going to Loews Lincoln Square to see Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. He gave me his autograph and I got proof of it. One question how can I get my attachment to my Peyton Manning autograph to this post?

Um... Better question-does anyone care that much?

I mean, don't get me wrong-that's really cool for you! But this is a D&D forum. I have to imagine a lot of people aren't that into sports.

That being said, if you want to attach a picture, in the middle row of the editing section, near the right, there's a little picture of a tree. Click that and link the image (as a PNG or JPEG, I think) and you can show it off.

While this is probably not an unfair assumption, it's also a frustrating one: the mutual condescension between "sports fans" and "roleplayers" (and a whole host of other interests on this side of the fence) and the assumption that never the twain shall meet. It's perfectly possible to be interested in both, and I think a lot of people are, even if they don't always feel comfortable publicising that among either group for fear of derision. And while roleplaying or the webcomic is what has drawn a lot of people here, this isn't just a D&D forum: more than half the boards don't relate to it at all. Indeed we do tend to have active threads around the time of soccer world cups, at least.

Having said that, while it's cool that Bartmanhomer is excited about it, it is questionable whether it in itself merits a whole thread or whether he'd be better off giving a shout-out in Random Banter or something, unless he's planning on this becoming a thread for people to discuss related experiences or American football in general. I'm also not sure whether discussion of sports goes here or in Media, though I don't think it's doing any harm here.

Yeah, I might've come off as a bit rude up there, rereading it. So I apologize profusely! I did not intend any offense.

Needs more alignment discussions.

Well, it looks like you did get it on April 1st .... Or at least posted that you got it ;)

Yeah!

Also, who is Peyton Manning?

A largely over rated Denver Broncos player with a much more impressive earlier career, who was hailed as the greatest person ever for long enough for it to get really, really irritating here in Colorado. On the other hand, he did displace Tim Tebow in the hero-player-being-fawned-over niche, and at least with Peyton Manning the fawning was generally football skill related and not the guy being treated as a saint for next to no reason. I'd consider that a public service.

Is it just me or does that signature look nothing like his normal signature?

It looks like the sort of cursive that shows up in those obnoxious handwriting books ubiquitous among elementary schools. Maybe it's a forgery in service of an april fools joke, maybe it's the signature of a different person named Peyton Manning, maybe it's something else entirely. The actual signature of the famous Peyton Manning, probably not.
