For those of you who use the class defense bonus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/defenseBonus.htm) (or just have two copper to share), how do you handle multiclassing?

The same way I would BaB or Saves. It's basically just adding another column to the class tables.

I do it by what their concept is and how many levels in what class they've got. Under the regular system, 1 level of fighter gives the full D column progression, which is really stupid.

The bonuses only differ at the first level. After that, everybody gets one point whenever they're divisible by 3.

The concept is that this is replacing armor proficiency, and you get the armor proficiency of your most proficient class.

So the logical thing to do is use the bonus for the highest class with their full class level. Possibly with some exception for arcane spell failure.

Either that or rewrite the class armor bonus rules completely.

I admit it's not the best variant on the world but my group use it because we need it for 3 reasons

1) Lack of magic items
2) Guns
3) Desert (the main continent is a huge desert and that's where we are going to stay)
