Summon Elemental Reserve Feat + Heighten Spell

I'm going domain wizard: conjuration. The large elemental requires a summon monster VIII prepared but the domain spells for summon monster end at VII. Would using heighten spell to heighten a summon monster VII to 8th level allow me to summon a large elemental? Or do I have to prepare a summon monster VIII?

Summon monster 8 is a different spell than Summon Monster 7, in the same way that Wish and prestidigitation are different spells. Heightening SM 7 to level 8 does not make it an SM8 spell.

That being said, the premise is also incorrect. Looking at a list of summons, I'm seeing that you can get Large elementals from SM6.

Except it doesn't require SM8, just a Conjuration(Summoning) spell of level 8, which a hightened SM1 to level 8 would qualify you for.

Whoops, I read the body instead of the title, didn't know this was about the reserve feat. Yes, this works in that case. SM7 as a level 8 spell is a (Summoning) spell of 8th level, so it qualifies.
