so The DM is allowing us buy custom items
but i'm having trouble figuring out what the price of one of my items cost would b

the item in question is a pair boots that grant a + 50 comp bonus to land speed

How much money you got? A +10' enhancement bonus to speed is worth 3000gp. A higher bonus would be exponentially more expensive. An unusual bonus (such as competence to speed) would at least double the price.

Actually, +30' is 3000 gp if you can make a DC 25 UMD check. So I'd put a +50 with no UMD check at about 12kgp.
