I don't think this needs an explanation, but I will put some rules in place.

1. No Spoilers. if it is a spoiler do the right thing and put it in a spoiler box.

2. Name who and where it comes from.

3. uhm rule number 3? I dunno, Try to have fun?

Anyway here are some of my favorites.

"One part talent may equal one hundred parts hard work, but what about a thousand parts hard work, what about Ten-Thousand!. Don't you see this is why this art form has been past down for thousands of years. Its because in the world of Martial Arts, Hard Work will always surpass Talent!"
— Hermit, Histories Mightiest Disciple: Kenichi.

"They were dealing with something far more dangerous than me, Harry Dresden, who's battered old Volkswagon was currently in the city impound.
They were dealing with the potential dark lord nightmare warlock they'd been busy fearing since I turned sixteen. They were dealing with the wizard who had faced the Heirs of Kemmler riding a zombie dinosaur, and emerged victorious from a fight that had flattened Morgan and Captain Luccio before they had even reached it.
They were dealing with the man who had dropped a challenge to the entire Senior Council, and who had then actually showed, apparently willing to fight — on the shores of an entirely too creepy island in the middle of a freshwater sea."
— Harry Dresden, Turn Coat

"If you're lucky, Imp slits your throat with you none the wiser, or Regent has one of your underlings stab you in the back, and you go quick. If you're unlucky, Bitch's dogs tear you to shreds, and it's a long, drawn-out, painful process. If you're very unlucky, you get the worst of both worlds, and you deal with me."

I consider a lot of things. I spent this morning considering frogs.

His first move was to go try to get a job. The tactic he came up with was to walk into the lobby, uninvited, stand there awkwardly, be too shy to talk to anyone, and walk out. :smallconfused:

This thread or its predecessors: (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?305986-The-SUE-Files-III-Basically-Exercising-Your-Cheese-Forging-Genes)

We aren't in charge of beating dead horses, we're in charge of beating cubist paintings: the problem is impossible and our solution has nothing to do with it. :smallfrown:

Sorry FLHerne - it was simply a continuation of a hallucination I had earlier about being possessed by the spirit of dead Sovjet leaders. :smallconfused:

"Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
-- Don't know who, don't care who. The value of a words shouldn't be determined by who speaks the words.

King of Heroes, do you have enough swords!

*looks at copy of The Quotable Sandman*

Wait, I have to choose? There's so much Neil Gaiman to quote. This could be difficult. I may need to begin elsewhere, or rather, Neverwhere.

Richard had noticed that events were cowards: they didn't occur singly, but instead they would run in packs and leap out at him all at once.

The abbot cleared his throat. "You are all very stupid people," he told them, graciously, "and you do not know anything at all."

From Sandman: The Dream Hunters

"I shall seek the Buddha," said the fox, with a toss of her head. "But first I shall seek revenge."

Moving onto Sandman proper, from #8 (http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Sandman_Vol_2_8)

I. Don't. Believe. It. Let me tell you something, Dream. And I'm only going to say this once, so you'd better pay attention. You are utterly the stupidest, most self-centered, appallingest excuse for an anthropomorphic personification on this or any other plane!

#36 (http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Sandman_Vol_2_36)

I don't talk to no dead people. 's bad luck.

#37 (http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Sandman_Vol_2_37)

Okay. Here goes. Barbie's idea. It's like, that people... Well, that everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world -- no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds... Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe. Isn't that a weird thought?

Finally, how could I forget Gaiman's wonderful paraphrasing of G. K. Chesterton (http://neil-gaiman.tumblr.com/post/101407141743/every-version-of-that-chesterton-quotation-about)?

Fairy tales are more than true -- not because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten.

"There Will Come Soft Rains"

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools, singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white,

Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

My favorite quote is actually a real one; when Abraham Lincoln was having a debate while running for Illinois State Senate, his opponent referred to him as 'two-faced' (meaning that he was dishonest). Also worth noting is that, even back then, Abe wasn't much of a looker. Lincoln then responded with "If I had two faces, would I be wearing this one?"

"Visualising the realism of life and actuality
**** who's the baddest, a person's status depends on salary
And my mentality is money orientated
I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it
'Cause yeah, we were beginners in the hood as five percenters
But something must have got in us 'cause all of us turned to sinners
Now some resting in peace and some are sittin' in San Quentin
Some others such as myself are trying to carry on tradition
Keeping this Schweppervescent street ghetto essence inside us
'Cause it provides us with the proper insight to guide us
Even though we know somehow we all gotta go
But as long as we leavin' theivin' we'll be leaving with some kinda dough, so
Until that day we expire and turn to vapors
Me and my capers will be somewhere stacking plenty papers
Keeping it real, packing steel, getting high
'Cause life's a bitch and then you die"

AZ - Life's a Bitch

"A-yo, we at the weedgate, waiting for Jake
We want eight ravioli bags, two thirsty villains yelling bellyaches
Heavyweight rhyme writers, hitting the grass that's the ripest
Pull out this kite from this white bitch
Talking 'bout, 'Dear Ghost, you the only ***** I know
Like when the cops come, you never hide your toast'
Guest starred in mad ****, CBL, Ice Water metallic
Past tense placed in gold caskets
Dru Hill bitches, specialist lounging at the mosque
Suede kufi wrap, undercover dentist
Rhymes is made of garlic, never in the target when the NARCs hit
Rumor is you might start to spit
You nice Lord, sweet daddy Grace, wind lifted
On the dancefloor, makeover's free followed by gauze
Duncan Hines monument cakes, we never half-baked
Alaskan, sexcapade, push your new court dates
Trauma, hands is like candy canes, lay my balls on ice
The branches in my weed be the vein
Swimsuit issue, darts sent truly from the heart, boo, I miss you
See daddy rock a wristful
Modern-day slave God, graveyard spells, fog your goggles
Laying like needles in the hospital
Five steps to conquer, ask Bernadette, Baguette swizzle
Ziploc your ear, hear thistle"
