CHARACTER KNOWN INFORMATION:This campaign is set in a city, called Ashei; it is the last spark of light in a dying world. Over 400 years ago, a powerful mage named Rain, opened a portal to the 9 hells, in which the united grand army of over 5 million strong marched on the 9 hells. They reached the 9th level and when everyone thought that all darkness was going to be snuffed from the world, all past and present lords of the 9 hells, united and killed every soldier of this grand crusade.
When the demons pushed back, the city's had no defenders. They all fell one by one, until the last city, a Bastion of light, the only true light in the darkness was the only one left. The refugees poured into this city, Mages and Constructers worked in haste to build, and expand the city to house and provide for the millions of refugees flooding in from all over the continent; then, eventually, the world. The City is now the only source of good left.
You are a member of the consortium. An Organization based in secret, tasked with the destruction of the source of power and shielding of the City. A great Sun located above the highest tier of the city, is The Last Sacrificial Gift from Bahamut, His essence, is the Flaming Orb, and all territory under the light is under its protection. At the very edge of the Light is a wall made out of Blessed stone and each watch tower, every 100 yards, has a miniature orb protecting it, A sacrifice of all the Ancient Golden Dragons that ever protected Bahamut, past and present at the time of the "Collapse" Every Ancient Dragon when it begins to die now sacrifices itself to provide another orb of defense along the wall, a last sacrifice to the cause of Order, Light and their God.
The extreme vast majority of the city is Good understanding the need for sacrifice for all to live. The City of Ashei, Is Massive, Larger and more complex than any city ever known on this planet; It is home to over 10 million People, all working together for the betterment of all.

The City is ruled by Solas, The last Ancient Gold Dragon. Under him are 5 governors, known as the Council of 5, each in charge of their own Section of the City.
Stone- A dwarf with prior Military experience, rules his area with an Iron fist with no tolerance for law breaking
Lord Brightmoon- A Drow, Representative of all outsiders allows cultures of each tribe/nation to thrive in his southern District. Is tolerant of most minor crimes as to some cultures a crime is just a rite of passage.
John the Swift- A Diplomat and noble by birth, was groomed and raised by Solas, to be his replacement, rules the Eastern District with compassion and understanding. This is the more affluent side of town.
Kronos- A Human, Born from the lineage of the king that used to rule this city. When the Collapse happened, his family was removed from power by Bahamut, and placed as the only Familial Governorship in the City.

Lady Silverwind- A Wood Elf Ranger, who used to be a part of the Rangers, is in charge of the Massive Expanse of “The Outer Ring” that connects the City Proper and the Wall that protects the City
The Military Is composed of 3 Orders: The Templari, The Rangers, and The Medicus.
The Templari, are led by General Brightblade. An Elven Paladin that has seen the most of this long battle of survival second only to the Dragons still alive and defending the city. The Templari are the General foot soldier of the city, they are tasked with Defending, Policing and Investigating all crimes and instances of darkness/evil. Most are just conscripts or people serving their mandatory 2 years in the service. Many get basic Paladin training, but are not required to take the Paladins Oath.
The Rangers, are Led by Moth, a beautiful elven female ranger that has been leading Sorties and scouting missions into the Darkness for years. All Members of this order are given a moniker when inducted and abandon their names and families. Members of this order are given anything they need from the population and government of the city, for every day may be their last.
The Medicus, Is the Medical and support Order of the Military, They are in charge of running the hospitals to care for the Sick and injured in the City and are attached to patrols and Guard Towers.

The Stonemasons: Are led by Stone’s brother Boulder. He is tasked with leading all members of his guild in the Maintenance and construction of the City and its defenses; they work closely with the Mages guild when performing their duties in order to make sure all construction lasts.
The Incantantus: Is the Mage’s College, The 21 Universities of magic and The Grand Library of Ashei, are all ran by River, the Great-Granddaughter of Rain. Each University is run by a President and trains all magi in the city. The Shadow Tower, The most prestigious and difficult school to get into, is ran by the Consortium Only members of the Consortium and the students are allowed to enter here. Not all Students here are members of the Consortium, but all Consortium Magi have gone to this university. It is ran by Magister Titanus A Large Human Male, that was once a Soldier of the Templari but became a Mage after losing his good Fighting Arm. Using Magic, he was able to craft a new arm and chose to continue pursuing magic. He is known in the Consortium as the only Mage to summon a Baelor in the city without being caught. The Grand Library houses all knowledge and Remains of dragons and magical components for spell crafting, under the guard of Free and bound Elementals alike. In the grand Library is a section dedicated to research and knowledge on the Beacons of light. But it is closely guarded and only River and those Selected by Solas may view this knowledge.
There are Several Battle Universities, in the City, most soldiers wishing to stay in the service past their 2 year mandatory stay in, attend these schools to learn how to be a Paladin, Fighter, Ranger, or any other form of Combat. The Consortium recently lost its hold on a school when the Headmaster that was in control was ousted as a Traitor, and charged with high treason. The sentence was being hung over the wall as an example to all who would attempt to subvert the city.
The Entertainers: is a faction of people dedicated to entertaining the city’s populace. It is led by the most popular and desired man in the city, Silvas Leafblade.
Day Length: 24
Year length, 365.25
The City is governed by the council of 5. Each governor rules his/her section a little differently.
The laws are enforced by the Templari. And all sentences are executed by them. All Judges are Noble born, with some exceptions.
All trials are Tribunals, Courts-Martial style, by 3 judges all from different sections of the city that the crime was committed in, with the defendant innocent until proven guilty.
The City Is Massive, 302 sq. Miles in this massive Ring Shaped city (Think Minas Tirith, but much more massive and not built into a mountain. With multiple Minas Tiriths in the circles, (Maps to follow soon).
Radius of the City is 5.531 miles. The extended Radius of the Grasslands to the wall is another 10 miles out from there.
For a total of approx., 15.531 Mile Radius, Equaling out to a circumference of approx., 97.6 miles.
Totaling, 2380.666 sq. Miles under the protection of this light. (Math check please)

During the Day, you can see 15 miles out from the wall. And all you see is Death, Skeletons, and burned villages.
THE CONSORTIUM:
Is a large Organization, consisting of about 10000 direct members, It has people that are mid and low levels of government, These members are the only “corrupt” members of the government, All members of government must go through a “zone of truth” cast by an Ancient Gold Dragon. And swear their loyalty to Ashei. The Consortium is not known at all. It operates 100% in the shadows. If a member is found, every member is trained to resist giving up the names of any member of the organization no matter how small. Rule number one of The Consortium is you do not talk about the consortium. Rule number 2 of the Consortium is you do not talk about the Consortium. The Consortium’s head is an unknown woman named “La Sombra” she conveys all orders through Agents that each of you are familiar with. The Consortium’s mission to Take over the City, and thus weaken the city’s defenses, in order to allow the Army of the 9 hells to Swarm over and exact revenge for the invasion and attempted Eradication of the 9 hells. All members of the Consortium are Promised positions as Pit Fiends, instead of being Quasits when they die and their souls are sent to the 9 hells. The Consortium, when the inevitable being found out happens to them, they immediately blame the Suspected Criminal Organization, “The Brotherhood of Angels”.
The Brotherhood of Angels: Is the only significant Criminal Organization in Ashei. They have a clean face of Charity work and helping the poor, but behind closed doors, they are an organization based on amassing wealth for themselves and other poorer folk in the city through any means necessary. They are an extremely well run, “In the Light” organization, that the Templari cannot touch. They were founded by Kronos’ family the Original rulers of the City, and are led by his best friend “Slick”.

Umbra stretches and yawns, rolling around in the bed of the recently deceased Carpenter family. She idly reaches out, snagging a cold piece of leg meat left over from yesterday, and happily begins to eat it. After enjoying her meal for a few minutes, she gets out, and begins to breathe necrotic energy on the bones, watching them blacken and wither to dust. Once the deed is done and no traces are left, she transforms into a small black cat, and leaves the home, her tail swishing back and forth.

Gwen rises from morning prayer, hoping that Bahamut would listen this time and would nudge his followers towards a safer tomorrow. As she made her way through the maze of temple hallways, she spoke off other prayers to her darker deity, Lady Fierna; she prayed for the confidence and skill necessary to see her through the trials ahead...both in her mission, and in learning to cooperate with less capable allies.

But all of that would come afterwards. She had an execution to attend and a vassal to butter up; f she was had her way, she would not be paying for her own sweet treats today.

Fandus got up from another late night of history studies. His work was too long for one man to see through and too important to trust another with. Plus, his colleague's tome was as mysterious as ever, offering no shortcuts.

And then, there was all the work for the Consortium as well. Why was he even bothering?

...he wasn't quite sure. it was all a haze, he just knew he felt he.. owed it? To someone? Had they asked? Were they nice about it? What kind of niceness does it take to get one to end humanity? How about his work as a historian? Whould there still be need for it without humans? Did demons keep annals?

...where was he going with that thought, initially? Eh, no matter. He had work to do, didn't he?

"Even with such a charm in place, one should take care with their words; you never know who could be standing in range, listening in," a soft voice replies from the shadows. Emerging from behind, Gwenhwyfar nods in greeting to the Commander before taking a seat, her spine relaxing into a comfortable-yet-upright posture as she observes the crowd with an air of amusement. "Truly, one must applaud whichever Councilor was involved with this: they managed to take the betrayal of one who held so much trust...and managed to turn it into something to celebrate," she finished wryly, one hand lazily waving at the assembling crowd, their almost infectious enthusiasm palpable even from a distance.

Victoria stands atop the scaffold, resplendent in pure black armour- the ritual armour of an executioner. The crowd is rippling with excitement, of course- the execution of such a high-profile figure is always a matter of public spectacle, and there's nothing more exciting than a spot of killing. The prisoner has not been led up to where he will die, and Victoria's fingers twitch impatiently on the long haft of the executioner's axe. The plan's genius, of course. The dirty work done, the blame shifted, and Victoria even gets to personally kill that irritating and ridiculous Lightblade. Victoria would expect nothing less of a Consortium plan. Gwenhwyfar was no doubt involved in something so elegantly plotted.

Speaking of Gwenhwyfar, where was she? Victoria scanned the rows of the audience. She was nowhere to be seen... Victoria could hardly start the execution without her watching. She deserved to see such a spectacular sight, and know that the plan had been executed (heh) without a hitch.

Ah! There, in one of the boxes! Sitting with a woman, and a... cat? Ah, she looks so graceful. Victoria looks straight at her, catching her eye, then slowly inclines her head in respect.
Time to bring this plot to a stunning conclusion.

Ah, damn it all. They want a show? Let's give them a show.

Victoria hefts the axe into the air and starts to slowly spin in the air, beginning a martial routine. Faster and faster, the heavy blade spins, describing mesmerising circles in the air. She lets the crowd marvel at her skill, drinks it in. Gwen had better be watching. Her movements are strong and graceful, each footstep made with perfect intent as she moves through the well-practiced routine. A large deep demonic voice echoes through the city. YOU HOLD YOUR CHAMPIONS GUILTY WITH EVIDENCE PLANTED BY THE ENEMY AND YOU COWER BENEATH YHE BURNING ASHES OF A DEAD GOD! BEHOLD TRUE POWER! As the booming voice fades, the sky darkens slightly and fires begin all over the city.

Gwen begins bandaging the priest's wounds, keeping an eye on everything peripherally...when she notices the Commander approaching. At his words, and his offered blade, she finds herself speechless for a moment, before replying "...by your command, Sir." Snapping her attention to the injured people around her, she called out "Victoria! Get these people on their feet! Commander, can you make use of this healing kit? Umbra, follow Commander Lightblade, keep an eye on him while we contain the situation here." Sir, my companions and I were sitting in a booth, ready to bare witness to the event. Victoria, in as part of her duties was preparing to execute the traitor. I might add that she has beautiful weaponry skills. As her axe fell, a purple skull appeared in the midst of an explosion. It spoke that we were executing an innocent. It is not my place, but I presume it's some scheme of the demons that lie outside our walls to try and sew the seeds of doubt. Lady Gwyn and I went about helping the injured. She suggested we try and calm the crowd. The Templari had yet to arrive to take the body, so Victoria and I began to carry it away to be hung on the outside of the wall. Stay alert- we don't know if there's any more danger. If you find anything unusual, report it to me."
Victoria then offers her arm to Gwenhwyfar. "My lady. Shall we depart?"

Gwen takes the proffered arm with a smile. "We shall, Commander. Onward, friends," she calls to the rest of the group as they set off to the tavern.

Hestia Gravecall (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=780268), Death Cleric of Myrkul
Hestia stood in the crowd, looking as always like an angel of death. Her master, Myrkul, sent to to help take down this last bastion of goodness and purity in the world. He wanted the living to fear his name as Hestia's Scythe struck them down into the hells. He wanted the fear back.....his fear.

Of course, that wasn't the story she could have gotten inside the city with. Her story is that she was sent by Kelemvor, the Keeper of the Dead, to help tend to the souls of those that were killed in this senseless war. She helped people to rest, buried them herself sometimes, and helped them give last rights as they went to the other side. Of course, when no one was around, Hestia would place a hand on the chest of the dying person as they were saying their last prayer. She would lean in close and look them in the eyes, and whisper, "Myrkul sends his regards. You will see him in the afterlife and your soul shall never have absolution." She would then drain the life form them as they stared at her in terror. Fear of his name and his followers were of utmost importance to Myrkul.

People tended to stand away from Hestia, covered in black armor and armed with a Scythe that you could swear that glowed with a sickly green, but when you looked again it was just a normal weapon. So she stood there, in the crowd with people inching away, close to the stage so she could see the last bit of life drain from the young man's eyes. She stood, waiting for the moment.....watching a group of people on or near the stage be extra chummy. They talked, and talked, and talked......was interesting to see such a flippant group talking as they were on a day like today. She made a note of that.

Then an explosion sent cobble and stone flying everywhere....as well as people. A ghostly demonic face appeared and boomed a proclamation through the streets. Hestia smiled a small smirk and turned back to the Captain's face. With the distraction of the loud explosion and noise she can enjoy her moment. She sees the ax swing down and get caught by....the Captain. Hestia does not often get surprised....this did it. A body that looked like him was left in his place. Hestia did not honestly know what to do next.

The "close group" seemed to spring into action, helping those around them, one of which scurries off to follow the Lord Commander. Hestia watches all the commotion and starts to act like she is helping as well. Those that can be healed, she leaves to those with such inclinations. She starts to find those that cannot be helped. She takes out her fake Kelemvor symbol and starts to take those dying souls through their last rights. As the Medicus and people start to disperse, she helps drag the bodies of the dead into one central location. She starts to go to the bodies, one by one, and say prayers of safe passage for their souls.

She sees the seemingly friendly group start to depart and decides they interest her greatly. She finishes up her prayers and starts to walk behind them, following them to the tavern of their choosing and entering a little bit behind them, taking up a seat close...but not too close, to their own. She orders an ale and flips a gold to the bard of the tavern so that he will start to play.

Sorry this is so long....just playing catch-up. If anything needs to be changed, just let me know!

Gwen noted with a mixture of concern and pride that the stalker she'd noticed following them had, indeed, entered a few minutes after they had. They were good, she decided, but not quite good enough...although if they weren't a Consortium agent, it might pose a problem. Keeping an eye on the other acolyte, Gwen subtly got the attention of the only other member of their group paying any attention to their surroundings: Commander Darkflower. The Pub, is very busy following the commotion. Many people , not ever experiencing a large attack on the city like that, looking for answers. Most commotion is centered around the fireplace. Where a woman with red hair in flowing white robes is leading a group of people through prayers and trying to offer answers.

Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about with "object under plate", until I saw that something had been posted in between my replying to the first DM post and my post actually coming up. Ninjas, man...

Anyway, I'm making an Insight check to try and get a read on the waitress, and I'm casting Illusory Script on the paper (with our group designated as able to read its actual message, with all others seeing an address, a name, and "look me up sometime XOXOX"). Gwen smiled with a shrug. "I was going about my duties, when I came across a small group of Templari. Some of them were throwing around some rather...wild accusations against Commander Victoria without having anything other than baseless conjecture to back up their case...unfortunately, Victoria's more confrontational approach to argument wasn't really doing anything to persuade them otherwise. I stepped in, heard both sides cases, and was able to point out the inconsistencies in the stories. This satisfied the Templari that the supposed crimes were just the result of bad timing and unfortunate coincidence, and they went on their way."

"A short while afterward, I ran into a spot of bother with some ruffians who were interested in commandeering the weeks tithe to Bahamut from me, and they were unfortunately unwilling to listen to reason. Fortunately for me, what could not be argued with words was much more easily argued with Victoria's blade. A sort-of back-and-forth of this nature, with both of us helping the other out in a tight jam, continued for some time, and we eventually entered into a more official lady/vassal relationship."

Victoria shrugs a little. "Hm. True. Those Templari over there seem to be watching me.- are you sensing anything about them?"

Victoria confidently strolls up to the Templari. "Off duty, hmm? Came to get some of the finest drinks in Ashai?" She casually leans on the bar as she speaks.

The Templari are speechless, they begin to stutter, and one starts to pull out his sword. cu..cu...cu..could you etch this for me?

The other Templari all groan.

"You were supposed to wait until after we bought them drinks. You fool now she will never do it."

From the other end of the bar a Templari walks up, he is wearing a dark leather Hauberk with a silver sun sewn into the leather. You know this means he is a lieutenant at an outer tower. Probably on leave to relax after being there for months.

My men here don't know how to address an officer very well ma'am, would you please excuse them. We just are on a week's leave from our tower and were at the execution. This one here, In reference to the one who stuttered. Has been trying to practice your routine you did at the execution in the barracks. Almost killed someone he isn't allowed to use axes anymore. I am Lieutenant Jackson, Executive Officer at tower 435

Victoria laughs. "Not to worry. We all start from somewhere, eh? Though some lower than others. It's fine, I'll etch your sword for you. I'll also take those drinks, though. Make it something strong, hmm? Victoria draws her dagger and uses it to carefully etch her name into the sword's blade. She gives it a few swings, tests the weight. "Good steel you got here, boy. Keep it clean, hmm?"

"Depends. You invited to the party?" Turning away from him, she brandishes the sword. "One second." Raising her voice to address the Templari, she shouts, "This is the only sword I'm etching today! So the first one strong enough to pull it out gets to keep it!" She then drives the sword as deep as possible into the wooden bar with all of her prodigious strength. Smirking, she turns back to the Lieutenant. "That should keep them busy. So I ask again- are you invited to the party?"

"Oh? Well then you'd best come and get it back. Join us at our table, just over here. I'm afraid that seat there is reserved for out mystery guest, so you'll have to stand." Victoria moves back to the table and motions at the lieutenant to Gwen. "We have another guest. Perhaps you know him?"

She then saunters up to the corporal and leans in closely to him and says softly yet loud enough for his fellow comrades to hear, "Keep your money, boy. But remember this day. The day a woman pulled a sword from the bar that you couldn't." She then sinks the sword back into the bar with all her might, in a different part, leaving the poor kid to have to pull it out all over again.
