How to join a play by post?

Hello every one,

I'm new to the Forums, I have been following the comics for month (on a friends recommendation), but never before ventured into the Forums, today for some reason, I decided to do so and was very surprised by all the things that go on here.

I would like to congratulate those of you who have drawn your own Avatar, some of them I found simply amazing.

But, what particularly got my interst was the "Play by post" section.

I have been trying to find rules on how to join, but my lack of knowledge about the forum section or me just being blind - I can't seem to find any information.

Can any one take my hand and lead me where I need to go, or point me in the right direction. I would like to know how to join and what I would need to do to be able to participate in one of the games.

A very good place to start would be to read this thread here. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46074) In it, Gorby does a good job listing most, if not all, of what you'd need to know for getting into a PbP game.

Also, most of the threads in the recruiting forum (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51) are games that are looking for players. You can normally tell with the [recruiting] tags in the thread titles. The first post in these threads is by a DM normally that is looking for players. The post will include some basic information you will need to make a character. Read it well. If you think you might be interested in the game, post something. Tell what type of character you think you might be interested in. Most of us down there are happy to help, so ask questions as well.
