OK so tomorrow I'm going to introduce magic into my game finally. I want all the magic classes to be the same. Magic is just budding in this part of the multiverse. So what would be best? In a previous post I asked about a home brew class for the elements. You guys sent me to Wu Jen soooo would Wu Jen work for a low magic game? Or should I use a different class?

That depends on how low magic your world is. Low as zero ? 1 ? Tree fiddy ?

It's your world, so you're the only one who can answer that.
But if you limit spell levels, spell lists, and people who can do it, you can probably make even wizards work. vide Tolkien's Middle Earth.

Thats actually about as magical as my world is. Id just like a single caster class. And very select few people will be casters. Until very late in the game where a certain kingdom from the other side of the multiverse rips into this universe

So basically, you want to use the Generic Spellcaster (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/genericClasses.htm), and not give a lot of magic items as treasure since magic is new?

You'd want to also trim down the list of available Prestige Classes... maybe go with Prestige Bard / Ranger / Paladin (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/prestigiousCharacterClasses.htm), as well, so those archetypes can be used in-game but not from level 1.

What's your list of non-spellcasting base classes?

If it were me, I'd probably go with:
- Rogue
- Barbarian
- Scout
- Crusader
- Swordsage
- Warblade

For non-spellcasting magical people, maybe some (or all) of these classes:
- Binder
- Totemist
- Warlock
- Dragonfire Adept

Every 3.5 book is on the table. Also I allow homebrew long as I review it and say it's ok
