Vortex of Teeth spell

Does this spell damage anything other than "creatures"?

Spell Compendium pg 232.

And would it work through walls/cover/etc...?

Does it damage everything, walls, furniture, objects, the way a fireball would?

Going by the rules as written it only effects creatures. The "force fish" only attack creatures, not other things.

Though most spells don't say if the effect the environment.
