Can you use multiple golem manuals to craft a higher HD golem?

Like several Iron Golem Manuals to craft a 54hd iron golem without using your xp.

I think it does, but just to be sure.

Hadn't thought of that before. I always just imagined using one manual and then paying the difference.

…then again I've also wondered if they could be used to craft colossi since they share many of the same prerequisites.

I don't see why not. You're still shelling out the extra cash for the improved body to sprinkle the golem manuals over and you're just wasting any excess from the books if you don't make it powerful enough to use the whole of the extra XP from the second or subsequent books but otherwise, you'll be meeting the requirements.

Of course, buying XP is rarely as fiscally efficient as just using your own. IMO, a DM very much should count a construct you've made against your WBL, too.
