Thinking of getting both the "rougish" and the "rangerish" out of one class when multiclassing, will be 6 levels in lore bard and rest as fighter with archery style, so now question is what spells to steal with magical secrets? Hunters mark / lightning arrow? Haste? Fire arrow? :)

Enjoy idea of lightning arrow for some added AoE. :)

Edit: if thinking all the way to 20 prob best for the build to go 11 fig, 8 bard and 1 rogue. Tons of skill utility, decent amount of spells and good offensive power and get 5 feats/ASI's.

It is, but I would pick up hunter's mark (or hex) and haste. They are great, fireball isn't bad but sniping will just be better for you.

And you realise your build works really late, because he will be a decent caster (with weak at will damage) till level 6. After that a way worse caster but extra attack at the moment fighters/paladins/rogues already have way better DPR. Even monks. And after that on level 19-20 it is good. Not earlier?

It works fine if you take 6 levels fighter first with sharpshooter so you are set damage wise while you gain your bard levels at 7-12?

The ranger can snag a level of cleric for bless, and since he's in the back not worry so much about concentration checks and help 2 buddies out. 1d4 + archery style and sharpshooter, can really add up the damage early on. Easy dip, grab some tempest cleric real nice, 2 levels of full spell casting. The shield spell for an EK archer is pretty good to have as well.

Ranger makes a good chassis for archer builds.

What would you say of start 5 ranger, 1 life cleric, 3 battlemaster, then rest of the levels in life cleric? Get good ranged damage, great healing, some control and good nova potential once per short rest?

Sounds AWESOME, but seriously get your hands on the shield spell for a reaction use and have if a absorb element prepared, both are 1st level spells, but shield needs an arcane class. Spiritual weapon is nice. May as well get 4 in battlemaster for the ASI
