Hi guys. You know, I believe this is the third edition of this thread, dating back to the first ur-GitP regulars thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?313299-Stat-up-deities-of-GitP-regulars!-%28Deity-makers-requested!%29), and the record that LoyalPaladin's post rate use to be better. What goes into a deity entiry? Well, for starters, they have an alignment, a short description, and a set of domains they grant to their clerics (and other classes). After that, they may have more flavor, like a history, legends, holidays, churches, rituals, and sacred locations.

Okay, Illven, this one's for you!

The humanoid races have always struggled to carve a place out for themselves. Monsters, outsiders, things that should never be named, all these beings have always seemingly had an inborn hatred for them. However, humanoids have always managed to hold on. And in the early days, they had one being to thank.

Ielvin was once a mortal, a human of a tribe without a name. A brave warrior who held out against the forces that conspired to eradicate his family and friends, Ielvin would risk his life countless times, never fearing for his own life. Such bravery and will won him more than honors among his kind, though. For one day, when a mortal blow was about to strike him down, a miracle occured instead. A brilliant light shined down upon the battlefield, filling Ielvin with power beyond belif. On that day, he ascended.

Ielvin now watches over his flock, doing his best to protect them from harm they cannot even comprehend.

Dogma
Ielvin serves as a watchful protector over humanoid-kind, and expects the same of his followers. Those that would reap destruction and terror are the enemies of him and his followers. Many non-humanoids, especially those beings that are extremely individualistic, cannot understand why one would risk their lives for others. However, this is the core principles that Ielvin's worshippers follow, and many would not hesitate to die for those they care for.

Clergy and Temples
The clergy of Ielvin is much like a family. A single member of an area, often known as a "Father" or Mother," leads and guides the various clerics and worshippers with a gentle hand. In times of trouble, the clergy has demonstrated to be capable of military might and strategy as well, but they prefer a more subtle touch in times of peace.

Worshipped in many humanoid cultures, Ielvin's temples are common. The temples are always open to offer sanctuary to weary travellers and injured soldiers. Well-fortified, yet warm and inviting, these temples are devoid of many needless decorations. However, they are usually well-stocked with supplies, and often are willing to provide for those that cannot provide for themselves. Many weapons can also be found in the temples, making them excellent bastions in times of seige.

Small correction though: The Council acts as one deity, it is simply composed of 13 semi-separate entities whose powers are roughly equivalent to lesser deities in and of themselves. So a pantheon would be both incorrect and correct. Most people have forgotten their individual names, but everyone knows that they're The Council.

By the way, most of the deities I've created over these threads are probably going to end up in the pantheon of a homebrew world I'm writing. Nidhogg/Wyrm Magnus (Draco's Deity) has already been included.

A warrior who has achieved the proper level of physical prowess might become noticed by the gods. If Izfort deems them worthy, he can grant them a fragment of his own divine power and they become his representatives and messengers to the other plains as he is far too busy training to handle things like that personally. There are only 42 Izatars amongst the planes at any given time. If one would die, another is chosen by Izfort to take its place

The Crown Prince is an ever changing deity where an artist that has massed great fame becomes the new face for the god. Since music is the raw force of creation and suggestion at work it's a chaotic mess at the court of arts, but once there you can see any and all kinds of arts in progress, be they descriptive, abstract, performance of manufactured. artists pray to the crown prince and non-artists will feel his/her pull. it is said that one can only have truly had the favour of the crown prince if one has had what is known as the legendary performance: a performance that has never been equaled and is known all throughout the world and remembered for decades. Though Death comes to all, the Crown Prince makes sure that not even Death can erase the ripples you left behind.

Additional: Though she manifests in a variety of shapes Virus-chan’s true form is a divine virus so powerful it can infect any deity of equal or lower divine rank. Any being of lower or no divine rank is automatically infected, while deities of equal rank have a 50% chance of being infected on contact. II they don’t become infected they become immune to the virus unless Virus-chan becomes more powerful than them. It drains small amounts of power from divine beings, gods, and many high level magic users. The virus does infect weaker beings, but they mainly serve as carriers and occasionally are infected enough to be manipulated as an undead when they die. It has the potential to mutate and gain more severe effects as Virus-chan’s power increases.

If enough infected deities are cleansed or destroyed Virus-chan’s power and divine rank will decrease. Like-wise if enough deities are infected her power and divine rank will increase.

Imouto Domain


Unlike other domains, the Imouto Domain counts as both of a cleric’s domain choices. It can only be chosen by female Clerics of Virus-chan or women who have or have had at least one doting older sibling. In the event of a gender change (for example from a greater rod of wonder) the cleric retains access to this domain.

Granted power: As a standard action you can grant yourself or one creature you touch the effect of freedom of movement until the end of your next turn. You can use this ability 3 + your Cha modifier times per day. If you have at least 3 uses of this ability left you can use all uses to end any and all effects that prevent you from moving including effects such as temporal stasis, effects that remove your soul from your body as long as your body isn’t dead, and effects that cause others to control you or your body. This is an immediate action and can be taken even if you could not normally take actions, such as being stuck in a temporal stasis or before your first turn in a combat.

This spell wards a creature from attacks by perverts, from mental control, and from summoned creatures. It creates a magical barrier around the subject at a distance of 1 foot. The barrier moves with the subject and has three major effects.


First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by perverts.

Second, the barrier blocks any attempt to possess the warded creature (by a magic jar attack, for example) or to exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment (charm) effects and enchantment (compulsion) effects that grant the caster ongoing control over the subject, such as dominate person). The protection does not prevent such effects from targeting the protected creature, but it suppresses the effect for the duration of the protection from evil effect. If the protection from perverts effect ends before the effect granting mental control does, the would-be controller would then be able to mentally command the controlled creature. Likewise, the barrier keeps out a possessing life force but does not expel one if it is in place before the spell is cast. This second effect works regardless of perversion.

Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not perverts are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.


A pervert is any creature that makes unwanted romantic or physical advances toward the warded creature, is determined to be a pervert by society, has tentacles, or regularly uses tentacles (such as casting black tentacles).

As far as dnd goes, it doesn't have rules for a blast from kinetic impact but the impact itself does 20d6 + 10d6/imperial ton.

So as an example a sperm whale dropped from 200+ ft does 180d6 damage on impact.


And anyway even if a bombardment is dedicated to khadgar here, I have liked them for a long time and will continue to to like them.


Something most people seem to fail to realize is I don't use magic directly offensive very often. I prefer to use it to accomplish incredible mundane feats.

Has anyone else beaten the Nameless King? He was really difficult in the beginning, but now I've beaten him 5 times (once in NG+) and he doesn't seem quite as scary.

I know the yan- comes from yanderu, which means mentally sick. A yandere is mentally sick in their attraction.

If Red Fel was putting that Int to good use, you couldn't use Path of Peace in time for the Hatred to do it's thing. Hatred is an instant, Path of Peace is a sorcery. The creature would deal its damage long before you could tell it to peace out.

Hey, don't be down. I've been away from posting for the past couple weeks, mostly due to a variety of unfortunate circumstances :smallannoyed:. Finals week at my college. I failed a math final (and the class) but got two B's and an A in the others. Not too horrible.

Guess my main deck is my mono B modern sacrifice deck. It can't keep up with the best modern decks but i have so much fun with it.

Geth's Verdict, Phyrexian Obliterator, Liliana of the Veil, etc force opponents to sacrifice. Blood Artist keeps me alive and is a win con with Pyrrhic Revival.

Sure my opponent gets an Emerakul, but then its sacrificed. They get their extra turn but i rarely care as their eldrazi is gone.

I have a whole slew of decks. Around 40 or so, and all of them fairly well built. Some are competitive, some are just fun.

Like my U/R storm/suspend deck that manipulates time counters to have all of the spells go off at once and then finish with storm cards.

Or my B/G gorgon hate deck that kills everything with In Garruk's Wake, followed by a swing with Phage the Untouchable.

Or my decks built around every single Ravnican guild.

Or my mono-blue "Me Too" deck that copies everything my opponent does. :smallbiggrin:

See, I don't really have that many decks. I should build some more, but I don't personally own too many cards, and I honestly don't know what I'd build. I like to use my mind when I'm playing and give myself a challenge trying to just mess with the field (and my opponent), so Blue is a color I like using... But I also tend to be impulsive and impatient, which suits Red more... And I love just having big guys, a lot of them, to smash my opponents, so I like Green... But I'm not afraid to pull dirty tricks and backwards plays, like many Black decks... And people tell me I would actually be decent at playing White decks. And I just don't really know how to combo any of them well to get a deck that's both fun to play and is actually good. :smallannoyed:

Quite a few, but they are mostly blue and rarely run less than a 4-5 cost. You would have to sacrifice damage dealt if you wanted to run a dedicated "gimme" deck as you'd need control cards to throw down while you ramped up mana. Taking more than a couple cards at a time usually runs a mana curve of about 7/turn or more. It's a difficult deck to pull off properly, even with the right setup.

Another fun deck is Soul Wardens and Clones. It is half tge one the other half the other.

Slivers and Elves is fun when Hivestone/Conspiracy hits the field too.


Fun excercise I do is to combine every dual deck that comes out into one deck. Heroes vs Monsters was the worst.

Its surprising how well that works TBH. The Phyrexian/Coalition one was particularly nasty, though my Avenger of Zendikar/Rhyz the Redeemed deck could beat it if i could get it rolling before one of those stupid dragons came out.

FYI Phasing never caused stuff to enter play. And now it doesnt cause stuff to leave play either.

I will say no to vigilante. Vigilante is one of my least favorite classes in existence. As for Spheres, I'll do it for a marketing deal from the writers.
