Just get a bunch of people to worship you as a god. here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/divineRanksAndPowers.htm) is a list of new superpowers you get. if you're playing a faerun game, you might have to kill a god with the level of divine power you want (zero sum game) go with imhotep, he's a wimp.

Divine rank 0 gets some nifty bonuses; full HP for his HD, deflection bonus to AC equal to his cha bonus, some minor energy resistances, a good speed boost, and a few other minor nifty bits.

Divine ranks >0, however, makes you an actual god. It comes with a slew of immensly potent abilities that will trivialize most non-epic foes.
