Hey all - I recall seeing rules for a variant paladin somewhere and now I can't remember where, or what the details were. The gist was that in exchange for giving up spell-casting ability, the paladin received bonus feats. Has anyone heard of this variation, or know which rule book it came out of? I can't even remember how many bonus feats, or at what level, and I can't seem to find where I got all this from. Could it be that I have imagined it?

There are two variants. The first is in Complete Warrior (p. 13), but it's huge steaming pile of monkeysnot.

The second is the Holy Warrior ACF in Complete Champion (p. 49), and is most likely what you're thinking of: bonus feats at 4th, 8th, 11th, and 14th from a small list (although better than the Ranger list on the next page). The only problem with this ACF is Battle Blessing was printed in the same book, and that's a really good reason to hold on to your Paladin casting.

Complete Champion, not sure about the page.

If a spell-less paladin is what you want, I recommend slightly refluffing a crusader.

Thanks all. I knew once I posted, it would take about five minutes to get an answer!

If Pathfinder is available there are two more options - the Warrior of the Holy Light (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/paladin/archetypes/paizo---paladin-archetypes/warrior-of-the-holy-light) archetype, and the Temple Champion (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/paladin/archetypes/paizo---paladin-archetypes/temple-champion) archetype. I personally prefer the latter as it has more flexibility, but the former's bonus uses of Lay On Hands make it a decent option as well.
