More or less what it says on the tin.

I'm playing character in a game that's got perminant extra ordinary size category large. (The GM felt like a melee character could use the boon.).

There was something that was not taken into proper account at the time. A need for a mount to keep up with overland travel with the rest of the party so that I can keep pace with out making them go slower.

Soooooo, toward that end, I'm looking for mounts that would be good for overland travel and are size category hugh or bigger.

Combat ability is not a priority as the character has no real aptitude for mounted combat (and only 1 rank in ride and a masterwork tool for it so as to make basic checks.) .

Bonus's for mounts that are less expensive.

Thanks for the help!

Several dinosaurs are huge size, or you can advance a dire bear or grab an elephant.

How about mammoths?
Looking at pathfinder there is a mammoth riding option in form of traits feats and I even believe there was an archetype or prestige class.

Since you don't plan on fighting on it, you can really go with any animal you can afford. Some flavor of dinosaur or other big beast would probably be your best bet.

Your biggest potential pitfall would be going indoors or through crowded city streets - if you see your mount needing to be around for such situations (rather than, say, being stabled or tied up outside the dungeon for a bit), I'd recommend getting a mount the same size as you are via Undersized Mount.

Elephants are huge (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/elephant/elephant) and cheap (24 gold) (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/animals-animal-gear#TOC-Pack-Animal).

Similar animals, like Mastodons, Mammoths and Rhinoceros are easily 1000-5000gp. Huge Dinosaurs span that same price range.

For flying, 6000 GP gives you a giant owl (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/magical-beasts/giant-owl).

If you get an item with enlarge on it permanently, you can take the item off and the mount shrinks back down for easier stabling/care. Shrink it down when feeding, stabling, getting through cities/corridors/etc.

If you get an item with enlarge on it permanently, you can take the item off and the mount shrinks back down for easier stabling/care. Shrink it down when feeding, stabling, getting through cities/corridors/etc.

But such an item is expensive. There isn't an item in the game even close to this idea so the only option is a custom item.

An continuous item of Animal Growth (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/a/animal-growth) is 180k! (5th lvl druid spell, 9 lvl caster, times 2 because 1/min round -> 5 * 9 * 2 * 2000)

An continuous item of Enlarge Person is only 4k and might work because of a similar item, the Dire Collar (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/c-d/dire-collar). But the 1k cost suggest the 4k cost is way to cheap (in item value terms). A normal once per day Enlarge Person is 360 gp (1*1*1800 divided by 5 (5/1)). That suggest a version that works on animals is about 3 times more expensive (actually 2.78), or 12k for a permanent dire collar (Actually 11111.11).

Not sure what the budget is the OP is thinking of.

Then again, you could also try to make a version that only enlarges and has non of the benefits of the larger size. I think a large part of said "item value" is the stat increase. Larger size without str, con, damage dies and reach is more of a curse then a boon to most people.
