So, my DM got to my attention that the belt (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-blink-back), would not work with chakrams, as by RAW it states that "Up to two one-handed melee weapons or up to four light melee weapons can be hung from the belt in straps or sheaths", and chakrams are listed as ranged weapons.

But, the chakram (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/chakram-common), states that "You can wield the chakram as a melee weapon, but it is not designed for such use [...]".

Does this mean i could be able to put a chakram in the belt (as a melee weapon), but toss it as a thrown weapon to receive the benefit of the belt?
Or should not be able by RAW but i should be able by RAI? Or i should not be able at all?

Someone?

The important bit is here:

You can wield the chakram as a melee weapon,

That seems pretty cut and dried to me. The text outright states that you can use it in melee, even if it isn't intended for such use. As a result, it is a melee weapon.

"You can wield the chakram as a melee weapon". Specific trumps general my friend-o. Enjoy your chakrams and blinkback belt shenanigans.

Shortswords are not meant to be ranged weapons, but at a penalty, you can still throw them. Ask your DM; if you throw a shortsword, does the belt suddenly reject it? If so, then using any weapon for range somehow causes the belt to change the fundamental nature of what it means to be a weapon. If not, then attach your chakrams to the belt and tell your DM he can either ogle his cake or eat it.
