Playgrounders,

I would like to use the following character flaws but am not sure how to translate them into dice checks, etc. in game. Please provide me with suggestions.

Thank you in advance -

* A bard who is OCD, with a big gap between his front teeth.

* A wizard with tourette's syndrome

Also, if you can think of any other cool traits along these lines, please feel free to mention them. Thanks again.

The gap between his front teeth, could imply a bit of speech impediment, translating into penalties to diplomacy maybe, or even penalties when expressing himself in languages different of the natives ones.

The wizard with tourette's syndrome sounds like the funniest enchanter of all times when using language-dependant-spells.

OCD: Perhaps impose the Shaken condition in certain situations? OCD is a broad disorder, the exact situation should probably be agreed upon with your DM.

Gap between front teeth: should this really be a mechanical penalty? You aren't penalized for being short, nor are you penalized for lacking a middle finger on your left hand. Just fluff it as an unusual part of your character's appearance.

Tourette's: A penalty on charisma-based skill checks seems most appropriate, perhaps with a 5% chance to make any spell with verbal components fizzle thrown in there? Of course, it won't really influence a non-intimidate focused fighter or similar characters, so that's a pity.

Tourette's can also manifest as physical ticks. Uncontrollable muscle spasms that would mess with somatic components. So maybe just a flat 5% spell failure chance for the character that can't be reduced without using Silent AND Still spell.

The OCD can be a wide variety of penalties based on what the compulsion is. Maybe make it a, make a Will save DC=15+number of times compulsion has been ignored that day or you may not take any action other than solving the compulsory urge until you have satisfied your compulsion.

Tourette will force a concentration check whenever casting a spell with verbal component and apply a -2 to stealth and voice related skill checks.
It's pretty harsh.
