Help me, Playground!

My elven wizard grew up attending magic school/university, and just got kicked out into the world via the mandatory study abroad program. As a flavor thing, I want to be able to name off a random course name when sharing information from knowledge rolls and such. Can you help me create the names of the courses she's taken?

Ridiculously liberal-artsy sounding names are PERFECT, it is an elven college after all.

EDIT: More "normal" classes are needed as well.

Botany 531: **** that kills you. The final is simple: the professor lays out a beautiful array of fruits and vegetables. The student picks out what he can eat without dying and eats it. If he survives, he passes.

It's all deadly poison.

Aside from courses, you could claim to have read a piece of lore in one of these texts (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?483064-What-s-on-the-Shelf-1001-Essays-Treatises-and-Books-on-Magic).

Moral Use of Magic 101 - Despite exceptionally poor attendance, the class is kept on the list of available courses mostly to assuage outside concerns regarding the school and it's teaching process. Mostly used for professors who need a semester without dealing with students to concentrate on research.

Lower Zoology 101: A study of the beasts of the world. (Typical zoology course.)
Higher Zoology 101: A study of creatures who think themselves an equal to Elves. (Basically, races of the world minus Elves.) The answers to the final all involve the words "but they're not as smart/fast/graceful/elegant/skilled/etc. as Elves."
Anthropology 101: A study of the thinking races. (Limited to Elves.)

Cultures of the World: A course on Elven culture throughout history and the world.
Primitive Societies of the World: As above, but for non-Elves. (See also: Higher Zoology 101.)

Inferior Magical Theory: A liberal-art survey course on how no Wizard is as good as an Elven Generalist Wizard. Final paper is five pages on why Elven magic is better than any other kind of magic. Easy A.

Relations with Mystical Creatures: A basketweaving survey course on how to get along with Dragons. Not "mystical creatures" generally, just Dragons, because apparently they're the only ones who count. A lot of perverts in this class for some reason...

You can't win religious argument better than blasting the offending god's avatars :D

If you want to really seem entrenched in the academia, don't refer to the course's name. For instance "My favourite course was PA 104." or "I learned about this in NCOM 244."

If the party asks what they course was actually called, then you can say Practical Applications 104: Magic in Games or Necromancy 244: Principles of Mass Summoning. Or you can just forget, some of those courses have meaningless names, especially the ones that are just prerequisites for others. Or that is how I view it. Even in highschool we would often just use the subject name over the course name.

Battlefield Trigonometry - what, you think Fireballs going exactly where you want them just happens?
Familiars: Care and Control - You know that ferret that knows all your secrets? Yeah, you want to treat that little guy right.
Optimisation and Munchkinry 101 - Attending this class fully is an automatic fail, as a real munchkin would have found a way to technically pass it without investing all that time. (Furthermore, you may have already failed by the time you enter for being the wrong kind of Elf)
Illusory Theatre - Those bardic special snowflakes might be able to act better than you, but sure as the Nine Hells they can't match you for special effects.
Physical Anthropology (High Elven) - Mostly about how to use a sword.
Physical Anthropology (Wood Elven) - Mostly about how to use a bow.
Physical Anthropology (Dark Elven) - Mostly about... yeah, you don't want to know.

It might be just straight up phys-ed course. A lot of colleges, at least here, have mandatory phys-ed class even for physics or art degree, even if only for one semester or something. Now what's the elvish pretentious phrase for that tho.

Ah, but this is Anthropology - The study of humans. And for our elven college, the study of humans is not likely to be a friendly subject.

Precision penmanship

Systems of alchemical notation and labeling

Tales of the unnamed apprentice, a series of comedic plays dealing with magical hazards and haphazards. Examples include putting a bag of holding into a portable hole, not checking newly acquired manuscripts for bookworm, brainfleas, etc... shooting fire at iron golems, lightning against whatever moss likes it, slicing oozes in half, attempting to go back on magical deals...

Besides Eberron and homebrewed worlds, do you know of any setting where Universities (magical or otherwise) do exist? Universities were a very important part of European society and culture from the Middle Ages onwards, but they seem absent in most D&D worlds... people who want to learn something has to hire a private teacher or beg somebody to take them as personal apprentices.

Acutally a very specialised Evocation class.

I'd also suggest many students carry personal scrying orbs or mirrors that they stare at all day, in class, walking around, eating, etc.
