View Full Version : What are your D&D stats?

Figured I'd start a thread which centers around this generator (http://www.thehaws.org/add_quiz.shtml) for D&D stats. Take the test and say what you got. That's pretty much it...
And here's FireSpark's generator (http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/terragf/) in the first post.

People have been asking of ways to figure out how much you can Bench Press without having access to a set of weights. A simple way to estimate it is to take 1.5 times what you can lift over your head, and that is how much you can bench press. I'll be the first to admit that this method isn't always accurate as it is completely wrong for me. I can lift more over my head while standing then when lying down.

I got these results:
Str 9
Int 15
Wis 15
Dex 16
Con 12
Cha 12

These aren't really that surprising... I expected Dex to be a little lower and Str to be a little higher, everything else is about appropriate. It's annoying how they use only education for intelligence though, they should actually give you problems to solve... hard ones...

Well, I couldn't answer all the questions hugely accurately as I'm too young to have all of the opportunities, but the results look pretty accurate to me:

str: 9
int:17
wis: 16
dex: 11
con: 10
cha: 8

I expected con to be a little higher. While I am hugely flimsy, I also never get sick. I dunno.

That dex seems pretty accurate now, but this summer I'm going to begin learning sleight of hand and parkour, so it'd probably be seen as much much higher.

There is a problem with the quiz in that the maxes you can get for every stat aren't 18. Most for Wis and Int are 17. The max for Con and Cha is 16. Str and Dex both had 18 though.

The test inaccurately portrayed my scores so I will post my real ones, formulated off of another test that you shall never see, nor again hear of:

STR 12
DEX 12

WIS 11
CHA 16

Rather good all around, although with my class choices in the other topic, well...I might want to have Sorcerer for the other side, and to make it a bit more true-to-life, the Underdark Knight from CCham-horses...are not the most friendly towards me (Although I would say I have ranks in Handle Animal).

About skill,s I'd say I have at least 1 rank in Swim, some in Handle Animal, some in Knowledge (Religion), as it applies to philosophy and ancient myths. Maybe some in Sense Motive-I usually tell when something is going wrong.

I know these aren't my stats. I am not sure where the hell they get these numbers from. Everything seems to be based around pure muscle as opposed to actual strength and being able to remember day-to-day things. The intelligence portion completely ignores AA/BA degrees and, to be honest, getting degrees is more a matter of sticking to school and not dropping out and not an accurate measure of actual intelligence. (I have a BA, just to say.)

I think that 10s are good too. I mean, a normal person gets a 10-11. My stength is low, but if a man gets a 10-11, I, as a woman, normally get a 9.
Although I think I'm stronger than many men.

I prefer these class/alignment/stat tests (http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/terragf/) myself.

According to those tests I'm a:

Lawful Neutral Dwarf Sorcerer and I have the following stats:

STR: 8
DEX: 16
CON: 16
INT: 15
WIS: 15
CHA: 14

I don't know about the sorcerer bit, but I can definately see my personality being very dwarfish.

That's a bad test.

Results:
Str: 11
Dex: 18
Con: 11
Int: 15
Wis: 13
Cha: 16

Now don't get me wrong - I'm flattered. But I'm not a dex 18. I've been an ice hockey goalie at the collegiate level and I'm a good martial artist (and was a gymnast when both my legs were unbroken), but I'm not a dex 18. 15 or 16, tops.

Ditto on Cha, I'd have said a 12-13 tops. And Int is an absolutely laughable test. The SOLE factor is the level of education you possess? What about outside factors that prevent one from achieving a certain level of education; a lack of desire to keep attending school, a lack of money, a field in which post-secondary education isn't required, etc.?

Firespark's test is what I use when I'm running an "avatar" game, in which the players essentially play themselves.

My scores there:

Str: 10

Test #1 (the one with "what's your education level" as the only INT question)

STR 9
DEX 12
CON 12
INT 15
WIS 15
CHA 9

Test #2

STR 8
DEX 13
CON 12
INT 18/15 (the second half of this has lots of CHA questions, IMO.)
WIS 15
CHA 9

Both match my expectations fairly well, except that IMO they put my CHA too high. I'm definitely not socially normal; I've had to work to be able to function socially.

This test is ridiculous, haha, I've never gotten such high results. :smallannoyed:

I mean, an 18 in strength? Come on, that's for extreme bodybuilders. I'm not that hehe. According to the test, my worst stat is 13, on wisdom. I won't even name what I got on the other stats. I think the test works on some level actually, but you have to be really honest to yourself and if you have any doubts at all pick the option that would make you look bad. For instance I'm relatively strong, at 6'10" and can take a beating, but I don't get into fights, don't do professional sports, don't go to the gym every day and if it involves stamina on land I'm whacked due to astma. Swimming I'm good at though. So str 13 makes sense, as does con 11. I'd be able to fight of most people (natural for my size), but any-one with practise and training would kick my arse. Likewise I am a reasonable fencer, but do that on strength, not actual dexterity. Similarly I'm crap when it comes to dating, but am a good debater and lobbyist. As this test is based on DND it makes sense that stats are awkward as DND stats are too broad and cover too many things. So in essence I'd expect something that be with 2-3 points of the actual value.

Str: 13
Dex: 9
Con: 11
Int: 17
Wis: 13
Cha: 12

The problem is the test does not account for being truly awfull at something, or being truly brilliant at something. But to be honest DND stats are too broad to describe that too.

I, naturally, have to complain (Hey, not because I did below-par, but because somebody has to :smalltongue: ). I hope I just mis-scored myself, because even though I got stats a bit low, some were higher than they should of been. Maybe if the quiz had more questions, or had a 1-5 scale.
For example, some of the questions were kind of vague, like "Do you have any allergies?" I don't have allergies, but I do occasionally get a runny nose or the like when around lots of flowers or in stuffy weather.
Also, questions along the lines of :
Have you ever convinced someone of something even though they know it to be wrong, logically? are kind of akward, because I just wouldn't try to convince someone that they were wrong if they weren't.
The ones about drinking were a bit confusing as well, since I'm not one to imbibe alcohol, I wouldn't know, and I'm assuming I fail those ones. Add to this the fact I have worse upper than lower body strength. :smallfrown:
Of course I realize not all tests are accurate, and ones on the internet hardly ever are. And remember, you can never account for plain old honesty. Just my two CP.
By the way, my stats were this, when I averaged the first time when I under-cut everything and the second time, where I rounded up :
(all stats are rounded down to the nearest whole number):smalleek:

Str:6
Int:14
Wis:13
Dex:8
Con:8
Chr:6

Of course, with me, low stats should be expected, I'm not the toughest or best-liked guy around.

Con 12 <-About Right
Int 17 <-Yeah, the int part of this test is way off
Wis 11 <-About right

It's accurate as long as you're honest with yourself. Appart from int (meaures number of ranks in knowledge, craft and profession rather than true int) and strength (press measures only arm strength and does not account for lower body strength used in carrying loads).

FireSpark's test is definitely more accurate. You'll should do that one.
Strength is a measure of upper body strength in D&D. That's why you deal more damage with it. Good legs means good Con usually. Running's good for your health. Oh and here's the stats I got from FireSpark's

Yeah, I think those sections dropped my CON a bit. In my entire lifetime, I've had less than half a glass of wine, and no other alcoholic drinks. I don't have any moral, ethical, or physical problem with alcohol, I just don't enjoy it.

A good attribute test would allow you to answer "N/A" or "don't know"...

OK, my FireSpark's stats:

Strenght: 10
Dexterity: 13
Constitution: 11
Intelligence(sp1 14 sp2 11 )
Intelligence: 13
Wisdom : 13
Charisma : 10

I think i can humbly suggest that my INT or WIS could be point higher, cause some questions I can't do properly, beacuse, well I'm still not very good in english.
My CHarisma is however worse, this is sure. I will say 8, not better.

I'm not sure about strenght, cause i have no idea how much can i bench press. No acces to any gym to check...
Does anyone know any way to check bench press without gym stuff at least quite well?

It's anyway internet test so it had not to be very accurate. 10 pounds of difference is OK, i suppose.

First test: Str 7, Int 11, Wis 12, Dex 14, Con 9, Cha 13

That test can't be right, I know I have a 13 or 14 Str (Since I can carry 50 pounds of pet food at full speed, but suffer a speed reduction at 60) and WAY more than an 11 Int. Unless 11 Int is somehow high 90th percentile, in which case, 47% of the D&D population (Actually more, but that's just counting 1st-level with no racial modifiers) is in the high 90th percentile. Even someone with 6 Int can see what's wrong with THAT statement.

9 Con is also weird, although it does seem about right. I've already determined I have a high Fort save despite a low Con. Wis, Dex, and Cha seem about right, though.

Second test: Str 10 (I didn't fill in any of the blanks), Dex 15, Con 15, Int 14, Wis 12, Cha 9.

Hmm. The first test's Con relies mostly on what you can do, the second on what you've suffered or not suffered from. The second's may be skewing the results by focusing on stuff that falls under Fort saves. The variance in Cha is harder to work out.

Quirinus_Obsidian

STR: 9 -> About right. I was never one to be a brawler; or known for feats of stength

INT: 13 -> I thought this was a little low to be honest. It focused too much on a colllege degree. Some of us do not have them because of prior commitments and/or cost.

WIS: 15 -> This is right on. I usually combine my senses with my dealings with other people, as you see in the CHA rating.

DEX: 12 -> This one is too subjective; it does not focus too well on the agility factor, and oddly did not ask about any ambidexterity (I am fully ambidextrous); that should be added as bonus points (for it to be not a penalty if you are not, but bonus points for those that are). I worked my arse off to get that ability; about 15 years.

CON: 11 -> Way off. I do not drink that much; so I could not accurately answer the drinking questions. Also the getting sick questions were a little odd.

CHR: 16 -> This one I do agree with. I may not be the best looking (I never liked the Appearance rules, anyway) but I can convince (or at least get them to understand a different point of view) using my charm and wisdom (yes, wisdom, I use a lot of logic) just about anyone.

Okay, inaccurate and silly these may be, but heck, they're fun. Let's have a look: the short test stats are first in brackets, with the Druid's Grove ones second.

STR:(9)8 <-- 8 is probably closer to the mark. I'm a pretty petite lass.

DEX:(8)8 <-- Probably quite accurate. While I'm good at working on extremely small, precise things, my coordination is rubbish and my coordination at speed is shocking.

CON:(10)12 <-- 10 or 11 would probably hit the mark. I'm low con but high fort save.

INT:(13)17 <-- Well now, there's a discrepancy. I don't know how to translate it to a stat score, but considering I tend to be in the top 5% nationally on exams, I'm probably edging towards the higher end of that.

WIS:(14)13 <-- Either of these scores could be about right. I have poor eyesight, though I do tend to pay attention to things around me, and common sense and memory are fairly strong suits of mine.

CHA:(13)14 <-- Having started off as brash and forthright and gone through a reticent stage, I am now coming to the point where I think I might finally be able to justly claim one of these stats. Possibly the 13, but I'm working on it.

At any rate, despite the fact that my stats clearly suggest I should be a wizard, I am apparently a true neutral (though close to neutral good) elf bard, and honestly? I wouldn't mind that at all. :smallwink:

[Edit] Decided to give the ability test a go too.

I got the following stats:

STR: 9
DEX: 15
CON: 12
INT: 17
WIS: 15
CHA: 14

They aren't quite what I would have choosen for myself. In my opinion I would be closer to the following:

STR: 9
DEX: 14
CON: 12
INT: 16
WIS: 12
CHA: 10

Str: 11 (+0)
Dex: 13 (+1)
Con: 13 (+1)
Int: 15 (+2)
Wis: 11 (+0)
Cha: 18 (+4)

And according to this, I'd say the best class for me would be Bard or Sorcerer.

(Actually, more likely Bard since I play the guitar so there's my instrument sorted:smallsmile: )

Oh, and according to the other test on there I'm a Chaotic Evil Half-Orc Bard.

str 13
dex 14
con 10
int 15
wis 14
cha 17

Well, not too bad I guess, I think I should become a bard

That's odd. For the class test I got Lawful Good Halfling Bard. I'm not lawful, I'm not good, the one instrument I can play is a piano, and I'm 6'3". Not any of those things.

Using FireSpark's test: Lawful Neutral Elf Wizard. No surprises there.

I keep getting Good. Chaotic Good.

I'm Lawful. Neutral, or Evil.

Also, I keep getting Bard or Sorcerer.

Mine was close in some areas (Dexterity, Constitution and Intelligence) and overestimated in others (I'm too absentminded for even a 12 Wisdom and I don't feel quite strong enough to have a 15 Strength). That's the nature of Internet tests, though -- they're good for funsies but not good for any real information.

Yeah, everyone say : "10 is absolutely average"

And here almost all results (including mine, which is already suspisious:smallwink: ) average are much above 10.

I would have expected a slightly higher Dex, if I'm honest - I'm surprised it didn't mention art and such in there at all. The strength was a complete guess - If I do 'military press' anything, I rarely have any idea how much it weighs...

STR:11
INT:13
WIS:13
DEX:9
CON:8
CHR:13

Firespark says I'm a Chaotic Good human bard with:
STR: 9
DEX: 10
CON: 10
INT(pt1/pt2): 14/14
INT: 14
WIS: 14
CHA: 13

Yeah, I'd say that's a bit closer.

STR: 7 <--- the only reason this is so low is because I haven't even tried benching at the gym so I don't really know how much I can do.
DEX: 11 <-- I expected this to be higher. Growing up in a crowded city helped me develop ninja skills for going through crowds. D:
CON: 10
INT: 15
WIS: 16
CHA: 14

As this is back around, I missed saying this the first time.

I'm curious as to what your INT score may be, as you've failed to note that the people who tend to play games such as D&D and whom frequent this forum are not a representative sample of humanity as a whole, while 10.5 is in fact the "average" for the entirety of the human race according to D&D.

The whole thing is suspect anyway, as there's no way 3-ish% of the total human population has an INT of 3. There's simply not that many people who are essentially unable to function in society.

A "truer" average of humanity is probably somewhere around an 11-12 in all stats, but not in an evenly distributed 3d6 bell curve. Instead the numbers drop off significantly below an 8-ish and above a 15-ish. The bell should be MUCH steeper than D&D models.

First test Second Test
Str: 11 Str: 11
Dex: 10 Dex: 11
Con: 13 Con: 16
Int: 17 Int(16/16): 16
Wis: 17 Wis: 15
Cha: 14 Cha: 15

And my character type from the second site a LN human(or halfling) Ranger.

I like the char test as I am currently (and usually) play a ranger and either human or currently a strongheart halfling.

My thoughts on the tests?
Str: obviously they both average 11 despite going to a personal trainer once a week and working out at a home gym....but truth be I am not a very tall guy and size has allot to do with it. Call me a halfling with a 3/4 carry capacity (ie. amount of weight I can lift) and then my strength seems a bit easier on the ego.

Dex-Con: The dex is right on for me if not a bit high. My con changed the most between the tests but I would go with the higher Con and the lower dex because I have a genetic nerve condition that lowers my dex but grants be a very, very high pain threshold.

Int-Wis: Well, I am currently over halfway done my PhD studies in molecular biology so no issues here really. Truth is that the second test relied on math for intelligence a lot and that is something of a weak spot so I would probably go with the lower Int and the higher Wis due to the nature of my PhD thesis.

Cha: I am a scout leader used to organizing 10+ youth and leading projects. I have also received an citizenship/leadership medal from the Queen via L.G. and met the G.G. of Canada 4 times at awards ceremonies for citizenship/leadership so I would lean towards the higher Cha. I am married so at least someone found me attractive...chasing girls off not too much of a problem though, so likely no higher than the test said.

Makes me
Str: 11
Dex: 10
Con: 15-16
Int: 16
Wis: 17-18
Con: 15
and a halfling Ranger.
