For an upcoming campaign I am considering offering players divine ranks as rewards at certain points along the story. However, Divine ranks may not fit with every character concept, so I'd like to offer other choices that would be about equivalent. My ideas include:

1)Retroactively providing X levels of gestalt with a class of their choice.
2)X number of bonus feats
3)X levels worth of templates

My issue at the moment is I'm not sure what "X" should be in these cases. How much of each would be roughly equivalent to a divine rank? I'd also be open to any other suggestions for possible rewards that could keep my players that aren't interested in becoming gods on par. Thanks in advance for any input!

If you are not averse to Pathfinder, you might consider looking to see if Mythic tier progression works for what you are planning. It's not Divine Rank, but it may work for everyone.

I honestly have no knowledge of anything pathfinder. Is there somewhere I could learn more about it before I invest in a book? The campaign I'm planning though involves the party being "fallen gods", and the divine ranks are meant to represent them regaining some of their lost divinity, while the other options will represent them rejecting it and embracing more "mortal" abilities. Would these mythic tier progression be able to be reflavored into a divine/material path?

Because Pathfinder is mostly OGL, much of its content (at least in terms of mechanics) can be found on the PF SRD. The official one can be found here (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/); an independently-maintained one can be found here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/).

Mythic rules work a lot like what you describe, with the PCs acquiring a spark of some exceptional, superhuman or divine power. Some information on Mythic campaigns can be found here (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/mythicAdventures/mythicGame.html) (and check under the "Mythic Adventures" tab on the left) and here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/mythic).

If you like what you see, consider buying the game itself. Even if you don't want to switch over to PF 100%, it's not too hard to mix a lot of PF and 3.5 content.
