Prince of Smack?

I wondered how central is the Elan race to the King of Smack build (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19914037&postcount=39)? Sure it grant a couple of nice features (2 PP, no need to eat, save bonus, HP damage healing, metamorphosis type shenanigans) but are they really necessary for the build to work?

Rapidstrike is normally unavailable to normal characters, but CREATURES OF THE ABERRATION TYPE CAN TAKE IT.
It's possible with other races, but they require either LA or jumping through hoops to qualify.

Synads and Dragonwrought Kobolds are also LA+0 races that can qualify for Rapidstrike. Being small is somewhat problematic for Kobolds on a King of Smack build though.
