The emissary of buhamut tells you of the ongoing dragon wars. The dragon fall war has begun to spill over into all of the lands you know, and shows no sign of stopping. The emissary has been sent to find the those who are able to help render the evil tiamet into capitulating without hurting her, allowing the dragons under him to dispose of the rest of her offspring. Within this world the mighty father IO has hidden away 5 artifacts with these artifacts it is said that they can bring an end to the dragon fall war for one or the other. But as buhamut and his dragon followers are fully involved in the dragon war it falls to man to retrieve these artifacts. for which buhamut promises great reward.

Each of you are asked to travel to a remote camp to meet up with other potential recruits and receive further information and you are given a gate pass token.

The Camp is nestled within a light wooded area on top of a hill. It is easy to tell this camp is situated for defense. the camp itself has thick wooden palisade walls and ramparts with a large wooden gate. At the gate stands a rather imposing, noble looking elf warrior with dark hair and piercing blue eyes, with his sword and shield in hand. as you approach the warrior Only friend's may enter here.

On giving the gate pass to the warrior he looks at you carefully then allows you to enter. Within the camp walls you see several tents of various sizes to the north a large wooden structure with what appears to be guards at a door, to the south another wooden structure from which heavy smoke billows out.

While looking about you are approached by a scholarly looking human he has reddish brown hair and green eyes, wears blue robes, Greeting travelers my name is Darious I am the camp magician and healer, and I have the distinct pleasure of greeting all newcomers to our camp, should you need any supplies weapons armor or magical items I am sure the captain will permit the requisition of supplies to you from either myself or the camp blacksmith.

Darious escorts the group to a larger tent that is presently unoccupied, While here in camp these will be your quarters, the large building to the north is the captains office and you are expected as soon as you settle in.

Scarlet, it was Scarlet yes? while we have many items what we do have is fairly limited and mostly random mundane or not very magical in nature, as for a Eversmoking Bottle, I am afraid that is one to ask the captain if you could possibly requisition as the camp does not have many of those items.

when you approach the building the guards become very interested in your presence when out of nowhere appears the emissary, OH greetings fair travelers my name is Serenity, she Looks like a young girl with mousy brown hair and is caring a thick black book. She is fairly decent looking but definitely has not seen much of the sun. Please allow me to introduce you to our camp captain.

With Serenity leading the group the guards give way without question. When you enter the well lit room you see that it is sparse with furnishings or anything at all save for a bed a table and chair. sitting at the table is a middle aged looking elf who has seen his share of combat, with golden blonde hair and does not seem to have weapon nor armor, Captain Meraxes, these are the ones whom were recruited to aid in this realm of men.

Without looking up, Greetings to you and on behalf of those who fight for all I welcome you. As you have been told the great father IO has hidden five artifacts within the realm of men, with serenity's help we have uncovered the approximate locations for four of these, but not the fifth as of yet. While we know the approximate locations for the other four we do not know the exact locations. Now you must be wondering about these artifacts themselves in the simple terms of men these are stones or crystals which hold unique powers each tied to one of the four elements Air, Earth, Fire, Water the fifth artifact Serenity here is still researching.

pulling out a rather large map and placing it on the table, pointing to the map you will be searching here in the whole of this land and we will transport you to this area that is devoid of enemy

Elavair came into the camp soon after the other two adventurers and met the camp wizard. Not at the moment. However I would like to speak with your commander if you do not mind.

EDIT: Note Elavair has his armor and greatsword bound to the swift ready spell. So right now he is just wearing an adventurer's outfit with a shortsword on his hip, a holy symbol with most of the pantheon's deities' symbols on it and a spell component pouch on his waist.

these locations are what we think are most likely the hiding places for each crystal
Air: near the Isle of Caprica
Earth: near the Jade mountains near Irdan
Fire: near the Firefalls near Karang
Water: near the most northern tip of the spectral isles

The captain lets the various locations sink in, those of you who came here we thank you unfortunately as you seem to be well provisioned I cannot allow requisition of what little we have available

Darious has a short expedition here locally for you to gather foodstuffs for your journey in the morning, do you have any questions?

With the meeting concluded serenity shows you to the door, and escorts you to where Darious is at near the main gate. So the big guy himself is sending you three out for food supplies, out here there are plenty of things that make for good eating, but there are some that do the eating so be cautious, you leave at first light, if you go over near the blacksmiths, pointing towards the billowing smoke, there should be some meals prepared for this evening. I will see you off in the morning, good evening.

He says in elven simply as he walks to wear they are serving the food as well.

"Are you here to help collect the artifacts as well?"

He asks once again in the elven language. He speaks it with a high elven dialect.

Elvair shrugged.

"I always use magic to get food if I do not have a place to buy it. The magic I was trained in as a duskblade among the high elves was focused almost exclusively on combat but I can emulate most of the weaker spells if given time."

scarlet turns around walks a few feet to the line that has begun to form as food is dispensed in equal portions to each man/woman. you are handed a container for your food as you proceed down the line a portion of everything is placed on the container and a tankard of ale to wash it down. the food itself when tasted is mediocre at best but it fills the belly.

Aramil stays quiet and will listen to the others conversations as he eats; but before leaving he will ask one of the other soldiers who have been here a while what are some of the predators in the area that he needs to worry about tomorrow while hunting.

you find some other soldier who is not to busy eating, as they listen to your question..
the creatures out side of these walls I have seen everything from what looks like wild dogs, to giant mammoths. but those are not what to look out for the things to look out for are the large things with sharp teeth, I don't have a name for them but they are brutal and deadly.

After a good nights sleep the three of you awake to the dawn of a new day, after preparing yourself for the day Darious meets you at the main gate, Good morning travelers not to long ago our scouts reported seeing a heard of some very yummy looking dear not to far away in the wooded hills just to the south from here. if you three are very lucky you can get all the food you need today and depart tonight. I am sorry I do not have better details on where exactly to look or reports of any other activities so I can only advise caution while you are out there as you three will be alone

(ooc: right - Blindsense is a lesser ability that lets the creature notice things it cannot see, but without the precision of blindsight, using nonvisual senses, such as acute smell or hearing. The creature usually does not need to make Spot or Listen checks to pinpoint the location of a creature within range of its blindsense ability, provided that it has line of effect to that creature- and subject is over 60ft - and you still need an initiative roll I think?)

while some grunt and make odd language, at least one seems to understand enough they are communicating to the others.

As this is occurring; a humanoid female appears out of thin air almost and before any can react, a bright ( daylight spell ) emits from her being, she speaks in common to the group I know why you are here mortals I bid you to give up this foolish quest that my brother has sent you on. I give you tidings of great peril should you continue on this path for I am watching.

and before the group can react she disappears just as fast as she entered the cave group are all lying prone on the ground.
