I need information or locations to get information about the country. I vaguely remember something about a forest that traveled across faerun that belonged to a exdemon lord or some crap which would fit here greatly. Anyways, is there anything special here? Locations, relics, etc

I expanded on this one in my game of Hoard of the Dragon Queen. Let me tell you what I did.

We aren't given much information on Chult, much less the Uluu Thalongh. This is literally all the info the sourcebook gives on the creature (3.0 Forgotten Realms Guide). They transcribed it verbatim to the wiki: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Uluu_Thalongh

In my adventure of hoard of the Dragon Queen:
1. Our party druid was the bodyguard of an elven woman who has rare items from Chult. Turns out, the elven woman has been having nightmares ever since Chult, and her assistant has also been acting funny since that point.
2. As they passed through the forest before Daggerford, the elvish woman asks the druid to go with her and the assistant into the woods to collect some rare wood to sell. The assistant had hear about it somewhere.
3. They arrive at a beautiful lake that secretly has a small planar bubble to the Plane of Positive Energy beneath it. The wood in the area is a beautiful white color.
4. When they get there, you start hearing the piping noise in the trees and the elven woman freaks out. She tells the story of the Uluu Thalongh and how it destroyed half the merchants in Chult and has been haunting her dreams ever since.
5. The assistant then reveals her hand. She is the Uluu Thalongh. She does a villain monologue about wanting a change of scenery. She knew this place existed and wanted to set up her new home in this forest.
6. She exits the assistants body, which then disintegrates and starts travelling through the trees. It inhabits a bear which attacks the druid and elf woman. The bear talks too, with weird control over the vocal chords.
7. When the bear is killed, it attacks with the vines and branches of the forest.
8. The creature is disabled, but not killed, if even one of it's tendrils is chopped in half. It then retreats shouting curses.

SCAG only has a paragraph or so on Chult. They describe it as a jungle nation with a culture distinct from northern Faerun. Rich in minerals, jems and exotic plants (components, medicine, cooking, drugs, poison). I got the impression the area was inspired by mesoamerica and there's plenty of awesome stuff to do with that!

This might be where my pc's spend their 3 months of 'surface' time in OotA...
