270.

Fact:
Halflings are good at throwing daggers.

Also fact:
Halflings are good at throwing things other than daggers.

Easy. 270.

When in doubt, vote 270. On fire.

This one won't be close. 270.

Tough one. I'm torn between thinking that 270 is honestly the funniest comic and my resentment at the Belkar comics invariably winning.

Most of these are plot advancing, and not too funny. Only 269 and 270 are in the running in my book. I think 270 is funnier, but since it's Belkar AGAIN, I'm voting for 269 because at least it's something different, as well as funny.

I vote for 269.

I'm gonna buck the trend and vote for 267. Why? Well first off, it's where the OotS realize just how screwed up this trial is gonna get.

But mostly it's because of the wonderful line, "Mr. Scruffy demands poopsies!!" The first of many, many wonderful Mr. Scruffy moments.

I vote 267... for Mr. Scruffy.

This one is definitely not going to be fun for me. I enjoy all of these comics for different reasons: 267 for Mr. Scruffy and the 'cleansing fire', 269 for its 'awkwardness'...but I'm going with 270. Truly, no greater advice has ever been given with which to live by - when in doubt, set something on fire.

270, Belkar is the comedy gold in the strips.

I'm going to be a Ye Olde Pioneer and vote for 266. 267 and 270 were great too, and 268-269 were pretty good, but I just love Elan's questions, Roy's answer, and the punchline - to me, that beats Belkar lighting Miko on fire. And that's hard to beat.

By the way,

266: 1
267: 2
268: 0
269: 1
270: 5

*ahem*

"I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes, but it's home to me and I walk alone.

I walk this empty street, on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
While the city sleeps, and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone, I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone"

Taken from "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by "Green Day"

No problem. 270 wins in a walk, and over most recent winners as well.

270 was one of the high points of the comic. I predict a massive landslide.

EDIT: Oh, I vote for 270 by the way.

270, 269 was good though.

Omicroncubed
2007-06-30, 03:41 AM
270, though it was close for 266 for Roys ''Lord Shojo is a robot'' line.

270, not only for the punchline, but also the excellent "You know, a matter of honor..."

kukn

270. Belkar cannot be resisted.

267 and 266 were close though.

Lord Shojo: "Guards! Summon the holy kitty litter! Mr. Scruffy demands poopsies!"

It was either 269 or 270 but the punchline of 270 clinches it.

What? No love for the lawyers?
I vote 268
"Ohmygod!!! You have a kitty!!!"

Its close between 266 and 270, but Im going with the underdog

266 gets my vote

Gah, they're all really good strips. I could see myself giving the vote to any of them, but it's really gotta be 270.

270 it is.

270, all the way. Fire! heh, heh, fire, fire! Heh, heh, Fire!

Sorry, Beavis and Butthead flashback. We now return to our regularily scheduled thread.

Belkar. Miko. Fire. 'Nuff said.

Lately it's been the 5's. 270 here.

Quietus
2007-06-30, 10:29 AM
Tough call, between 269 and 270 - it's either Celia's "Slipping the wood to the dryad hussy" comment, or Belkar's "When in doubt, light something on fire".

I'll have to go with 269, though.

Tolkien_Freak
2007-06-30, 10:44 AM
270, that was easy. If it involves fire and Asian alcoholic drinks, it's funny.

Dunamin
2007-06-30, 10:53 AM
266 - Because angry robots with laser beam eyes and crushing titanium claws, sent from the future to punish the OOTS in the past are just awesome.

Dusk_Rider
2007-06-30, 11:14 AM
267. But it was a hard choice.

happyturtle

269 for 'slipping the wood'

Sylian

All of those are really good. I'll have to say 270.

AlisdairM

270 is such an awesome setup for one of the best chase scenes in the OOTS run, but I'm going to vote 266. You just can't beat a good Elan/Roy skit.

(and yes, I am well aware the final vote will prove me wrong in a big way!)

I'm going with
270

All important strips, but mainly plot revealing.
And this one is Belkar great moment.

Fact: Evil characters in a Good party steal the show every time, when handled properly.

Classic although the sake / match throwing was a little complex for Belkar.

Poll is closed.

Didn't considered Tower's vote, it was today. But he voted for 270, it wouldn't change anything at all.
