Or a horse or whatever. I'm on the cheap, and my DM wants to roll stats. I got 4 strength. So I'm a wizard, harry. I need something at level one on 7 gp that can carry all my stuff.

You're out of luck - a mule is 8 gp (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/goodsAndServices.htm).

Time to roll up a new character who is exactly the same but with better starting gold rolls.

If you're short a GP, read the last paragraph on page 111 in the PHB. Pick the explorer's outfit as your free outfit. Sell it back to the merchant for 5 GP. Buy an artisan's, traveler's, or peasant's outfit if you're not keen on taking the Vow of Nudity (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?45529). Spend the remaining GP on your beasts of burden. (Goats are cheaper, 1 GP as per PHB p. 112.)

Alternatively, hire a simple manservant who you pay 1 sp a day to carry your stuff. 7 gold will last you 70 days, after which time you should almost certainly be able to afford a more permanent solution (or at the very least have made enough money to extend the tenure of your faithful manservant).

That's useful.

EDIT:
nvm. I'm not allowed to hire a servant.
God I hate rolling for stats.
