Can you boost the area of a Continual Flame?

Lanterns typically burn oil for their flame (and thus light). And it is the exact same amount of oil, but depending on the model of lantern, has different ranges of light (because of mirrors and stuff, no doubt).

Surely the same can be done with Continual Flame, especially when it says it burns with the light of a torch, which has a stronger range than a standard lamp.

Or has this simply never been mentioned in the rules before?

Also, I heard there was a piece of equipment which let you hold torches or candles or lanterns in body slots instead of your hands. What are those? And do they work for work animals like oxen and mules?

I would rule that an everburning lantern has the same range as a regular lantern of the same kind. Not every DM would be that kind though.

I figure if you stick an ever burning pebble into a lantern the lenses etc affect it proportionally

I put one in a curved silver tube on my helmet and it made a bullseye lantern just fine. Only problem is the dark sneak attack zone behind you
