Or I think this gives one arbitrarily high scores...

Bind naberius, get your hands on a Steal Life item, find your mark (someone old and afraid of dying), on the night of the full moon get them to start stealing your life; naberius will fix any ability drain you take. Have this go on for a while... And then kill your mark; you get back all the ability points that were drained (on top of your already fully healed ability scores)
Does it work?

No. You only regain lost ability scores, you don't increase them. Furthermore, the spell drains your ability scores a hundred times faster than you can recover them, so you will be dead long before Naberius's healing kicks in.

Um... Naberius heals at 1 point per round; and the spell drains at 1 point per round...

Naberius heals 1 point of ability drain from each ability score per hour. There are 600 rounds in an hour and 6 ability scores. That's 1 point healed for each 100 points drained. Not a favorable ratio.

You're right. Damaged is the per round effect. doesn't work then.

"If the caster dies while concentrating on this spell, all the subject’s lost ability score points are immediately regained."

As Troacctid stated, it depends on how you interpret "regained." If it means you add whatever you lost to your current scores (which are kept normal by Naberius) then it would constitute an increase. But if it means your scores simply return to what they were before the drain started, then this does nothing.

Even if you get this past your GM however, another wrinkle I will point out is the wording of the "kill" portion. Namely, they have to die "while concentrating" for this part to even trigger. As the spell is duration concentration, it ends the instant they stop or get disrupted, so whatever means you use to kill them has to be one that doesn't interfere with their concentration or else the spell will be over before you get your drain back. For example, if you stab them in the heart, the damage could disrupt their concentration before they actually roll the fort save and die. Similarly, if you hit them with an instant death spell like Slay Living, that spell itself may disrupt their concentration before you even resolve its effects.

EDIT: And all of the above can be disregarded thanks to Naberius' wording, which I too forgot :smalltongue:
