The druid shapeshifter variant from Players Handbook 2 gains the ability to shapeshift into a large size creature at level 8 any number of times a day for any duration. Does this qualify them for the War hulk prestige class? Then if we look at the rule that if you no longer qualify for a prestige class, you lose access to its abilities. Does that mean you can then leave your shapeshift and return to medium size, lose the bonus to strength and lose the Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based skills penalty and be a functioning person again, then at any time Hulk out, growing large size, gaining all your War Hulk abilities and detriments?

Sorry if this was a ramble.

This does not work unless you houserule loss of prerequisites to lose abilities of PrCs. As it stands, only two books have this rule, Minatures Handbook isn't one of them. If you do houserule it in, it messes up other classes like Ur Priest and Dragon Disciple.

Strictly speaking, Ruethgar is correct.
That said, it's not a horrible houserule to apply to this one class! As you said, it makes for some great HULK moments!
(On the other hand, I'm partial to our groups houseruled class feature:
"At 9th level, a warhulk learns how to take his great strength, and apply it with tactics and finesse. This removes the penalty from No Time to Think, and allows the warhulk to once again use his full ranks in all Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based skills."
