This is all going to depend on the rule set you are using. Which is it?

Zakier
2016-06-30, 02:46 PM
Examples of exact functionality would also be appreciated. And the class being used to create. Eg. Artificer, wizard, bard etc.

nintendoh

3.5 artificer

Predator should be a shoulder mounted spell turret firing a force spell of some short. Greater magic make up should increase your attractiveness, not charisma just hottness. Chain weapon example is a chainsaw sword. The rest are as described. Does this help at all?

Yes, I've been learning the artificer for a month now to prep for a game. You want cost math included for justification?

And should they be sci-fi or 3.5 fantasy medieval

Zakier
2016-06-30, 03:32 PM
In regards to the octopus arms. You want them exactly like the doc oc version or do you want complete control?

nintendoh
2016-06-30, 03:52 PM
I would be fine with a penalty similar to using offhand weapons. With the strength to potentially climb walls so i guess just like doc maybe. He spiderwalked a few times.

Zakier
2016-06-30, 03:58 PM
For off hand weapons the penalty would be the same as a multi armed monster without the multiple weapon fighting feat. Give me some time. Should be able to come up with something. I'll do setting generic info if you Want to fluff it to fit SciFi you can.

Zakier
2016-06-30, 04:00 PM
I'll make 2 versions of the arms. One will be an intelligent item with an ego score and requires will save or else they take over like control person. The other will be without interference.

You are filled to the brim with awesome. What spell should the predator gun shoot. Orb of force? Is there a way to use eldrich blast in a magic item?

Lute: a masterwork lute
There's no real rules for distance it can be heard at...

But some ideas:
Amp can do a number of spells per day: notably Shatter and Irresistible Dance
Have the lute, besides being the lute,be the power source for the device-amp (legacy of blood), needs to be competently played for X rounds to generate a charge. Expend charges to use spells

nintendoh
2016-06-30, 06:24 PM
Yeah thats what im talking about. So is a wonderous item. Whats it priced out at?

Gildedragon
2016-06-30, 06:35 PM
Select the spells and effects first

The jacket, for example, seems to have a Summon Nature's Ally Effect
So 1 x 2000 x 1
So about 2000 gp to generate 1d4 doves

nintendoh
2016-06-30, 07:28 PM
Would the price be adjusted because it only summons doves but it does it at will as a standard action

Zakier
2016-06-30, 08:42 PM
The price would be adjusted first down because it can only summon nature's Ally, so from 2k to 1k. Buy because it can summon it over and over again the price has to go bCk up. I dont believe by the games rules you can summon more than 1 at a time. I'll have to check the spell buy there is a limit to the numner you can summon at once. So constant summoning means back up 1k to 3k

Zakier
2016-06-30, 08:46 PM
The plans turret would essentially be a wand crafted into the form of a turret. I made something similar for my own game. Please feel free to use my Canon change Arm bracelet shoulder pad. I'll link next post

I figure a dove is less useful than any animal in the SNA1 list, so I treat it as if SNA1 was being used to summon from a lesser list.

So... Um... Scratch everything. Just played a session. I need this dwarf repellent asap. Seriously this is getting humiliating.

Why is it always chainsaws? They're really not a good weapon

nintendoh
2016-06-30, 09:06 PM
Because a power weapon is just one with a force weapon and a nemesis force weapon is a dispelling, force effect, bane ( psionic) with a stored save or die spell

Predators Shoulder Turret (+1)(CL5) Weight 1 ˝ lbs. Range bolt 60ft/Missle 100ft(+10ft/CL) Damage 1d6+1 19–20/×2 Piercing
Cost 21250

This metal Shoulder pad is covered with fine lines and filigree. When activated (a free action) the filigree unfolds into a small repeating crossbow.

///
This is where you have a choice. Decide spell here. Ibe given some examples below.

Can choose to use activate

Deadly Sunstroke
(Complete Mage, p. 101)

Evocation [Fire]
Level: Sorcerer 9, Wizard 9, Wu Jen 9 (fire),
Components: V, S,
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Target: One creature/level, no two of which are more than 60 ft. apart
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial
Spell Resistance: Yes

Beams of desiccating heat lance into your foes, scorching their flesh and draining their vitality.
This spell creates waves of overwhelming heat that deal 1d6 points of fire damage per caster level, maximum 25d6. Undead and plants take +50% damage. Any living creature damaged by this spell becomes fatigued. A successful Fortitude save halves the damage and negates the fatigue.
If you cast this spell in any locale where the temperature exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the spell instead deals 1d8 points of fire damage per caster level (maximum 25d8) and makes living creatures exhausted. A successful Fortitude save halves the damage and negates the exhaustion.
When fired this Crossbow fires magic missle or a bolt. This version only fires 3 missiles at 1d6+1 per missle though some artificer's have made stronger versions.

This would add 360,000 to the cost given above.

Or as low as magic missle as below.

Magic Missile
Evocation [Force]
Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Targets: Up to five creatures, no two of which can be more than 15 ft. apart
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage.

The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can’t be singled out. Inanimate objects are not damaged by the spell.

For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.

5th caster level would me total item cost up 10000

Generally determine what spell you want it to cast and take

Spell level x Caster Level x 2000

I did deadly Sunstroke at level 20

No spell can be willingly placed at a caster level less than required to cast the spell.

As a deduction restriction on the item.

<
Any artificer, with experience in Clockwork creation, Is proficient the use of this custom built bow.
(Or whatever restriction skill you think or none. And a class restriction for major (like 30% off) reduction. Alignment restriction works too.

Ok back to fluff

///////
This Crossbow takes up the Shoulders (Like capes or mantles) slots and is considered a ready weapon if the user chooses so. It can be paired with a second and even modified to use stronger magics at a higher cost.

Requires Craft Wondrous Item, craft Wand and Craft Magical arms and armor.

Cost 31250 market price for cl5 magic missle version

362250 gold for the level 20 sun version.

I'll use magic missle tu explain cost reduction below.

Cost are based on 250+ 750 (Light repeating mithril crossbow) (Masterwork included in mithril cost per DMG pg 284)

Enhancement bonus's +1 1x1x2000=2000 Hideaway Weapon Augmentation ( from RotW pg 171) Cost 7,500 go

Magic Missle use active, no limit Sl1 CL 5 1x5x2000=10,000

Masters touch SL1CL1 continuous (Originally 1 minute per level) 1x1x2000=2000*2(original duration multiplier) 2000x2=4000

Let's add it together. As the most expensive magic missle goes first. Then for each additional non similar effect were add the cost a 50% increase as per the creation guidelines.

10,000+(7500*1.5)+(4000*1.5)+(2000*1.5)= 30,250

Add in the base item at 1000 total

For 31,250 gp

Crafting it yourself instead of buying it. (DMG) 50%

31250×0.5=15625

Item is restricted to being used by those of a specific skill. (DMG) 90%

15625×0.9=14062.5

Item is restricted to being used by those of a specific class or alignment. *(DMG) 70%

14062.5×0.7=9843.75

Apprentice (Craftsman) feat *(DMG II) 90%

9843.75×0.9=8859.38

Extraordinary Artisan *feat *(ECS) 75%

8859.38×0.75=6644.54

So here then apply additional as example

Magical Artisan applied to exceptional artisan 75%

6644.535×0.75=4983.41

Final cost translate to 3.5

498 plat, 3 gold, 4 silver, 1 copper

Masters touch from the Wu Jen spell list is level 1, instant proficiency with weapon.

Hideaway altered from races of the wild so it isn't constantly just on your shoulder. It folds down into a normal shoulder pad.

Here's your predator turret. I'll focus on the rest tomorrow. Got to get sleep and be up early.

This confuses me as when you apply the cost reductions in a different order it changes the final price.

Zakier
2016-07-02, 01:19 AM
It should be ending with the same price. Mind you after each reduction I rounded up to the nearest copper

0.001 =0.01

For consistency it's best to set your order of reduction from highest to lowest. But apply all reductions after cutting base cost in half.

Zakier
2016-07-04, 12:12 PM
I checked the math again. No matter what order you apply the reductions in it comes out to the exact same final price. However the multipliers when adding all the item cost together are order dependent. In this situation you apply the order mathematically from most expensive to least expensive.
