I've been invited to play in a campaign for D&D 3.5. My character will be 19th level, has 580000 gp, must be evil and is a member of the Night Masks. The other players are: A dwarf monk, a human wizard and a gnome wizard/bard with a human rogue cohort.

What do I bring to the table? (Other than snacks...)

Edit:I rolled 16, 14, 12, 12, 12, 12 or 15, 15, 15, 13, 11, 8. The DM actually let me roll 3 rows, but let's not mention the last one.

I see no divine caster . That would be the most obvious hole to plug .
Also monks are second rate tanks at best. A nice fighter or barbarian would be most appreciated .

How do you feel about making a Butt Kicker or an Unholy Joe ?

I'm not familiar with those builds...

And actually, I thought the absence of a cleric and fighter was (partially) by design. That's not to say that it's not a good idea, but we are supposed to play members of the Night Masks thieves guild. So it might be handy to bring something stealthy to the table instead. The best stealthy/divine/tank thing I can think of is ranger?
I don't want to hog the spotlight too much, so that might actually work. I'd rather bring a bit more spellcasting power along. If this was Pathfinder I'd play an Inquisitor...

There is no trap person: maybe factotum/warblade
Or factotum/archivist

I don't have Heroes of Horror. It might fit the campaign though.

Too bad you're evil... a cleric/malconvoker would be awesome here. Healing, buffing, meatshield-summoning...

Honestly a Cleric of a sneaky God/dess would be fine I imagine. Trickery is an excellent Domain to have on the list, along with whatever else floats your boat. And don't forget how absolutely useful having a spell like Silence on the spell list is for people who don't wanna get noticed. Need to break a window? Force a door open? Knock out some guards? Silence the area and there is 0% chance of anyone hearing.
Just resist the urge to walk around in full plate and you're golden. Plus if you do take Bluff and Disguise, you could pass yourself off as a Cleric of a "proper" faith when the party needs access to certain places.

There are sneaky divine tank builds in the guise of Cleric/Crusader/Ruby Knight Vindicator.
Granted that will need some DM approval since by default the Ruby Knight Vindicators are aligned with Wee Jas.

Actually, I think I'm quite happy with a cleric 6/prestige ranger 13. Thanks guys!

Edit: That would give me the following stuff at level 19:
- Animal companion as a level 13 druid.
- Spellcasting as a 12th level cleric.
- BAB +17.

Practiced Spellcaster seems like a good idea, but what about Natural Bond? My animal companion would still be 3 levels behind, so I'm not sure it's a wise investment.
