View Full Version : DM Help Module Characters (Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition)

I'm working on a module that uses the Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition ruleset. It's supposed to be a one-shot module of about 6 hours or so (exact length to be determined and tested). Despite using the Mutants and Masterminds ruleset, the setting is about 1780 with magic. The players play as members of an elite intelligence and security operation within the city state of San Maria, the wealthiest and most magically apt city state in the world. Their job in this module is to track down and capture a young girl who has half the soul of a demon lord welded to her own soul.

With all that said, I need some feedback on the characters as they currently are. Specifically, I would be grateful for the following feedback.

Which characters would you enjoy playing?
Which would you not enjoy playing?
Which would you hate to be forced to play?
Are there any archetypes you would *really* like to play that's not on the list? Name one.

Stage 0:
Tune to the world pulse: The first step in every dance. A defensive, if weak stance. Immunity (Entrapment and Fatigue effects)

Stage 1
Dance of Stones: Whirls up an array of stones that damages everyone around you. (Strike 10 [Blunt] PF [Split Attack 3]: Limit [Can only be done following a stage 0 or 1 or 2 dance])
Thunderlash: A rapid kick that allows for movement during the attack. (Strike 10 [Electric] PF: Move-By attack. Limit: Limit [Can only be done following a stage 0 or 1 or 2 dance])
Skystep: A graceful and swift movement through the air (Speed 1 Linked Leaping 3 Linked Enhanced Reflex 5: Limit [Can only be done following a stage 0 or 1 or 2 dance])
Lakedancer: Soft, smooth steps, light as a feather, relentless as the ocean. (Super-Movement Waterwalking Linked Telekinesis 3 [liquids only] Linked Create Object 1 (Water only): Limit [Can only be done following a stage 0 or 1 or 2 dance])

Stage 2
Quaking steps: Your steps cause small earthquakes you can focus on someone else. (Strike [blunt]10: Flaw: [Only against people standing on solid ground]: Limit [Can only be done following a stage 1 or 2 dance] Extra [Range Perception, Alternate Save Reflex])
Thunderdome: Conjure a powerful current of electricity that arcs out in a sphere, harming all in range. (Strike 10 [Electricity] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 0 or 1 or 2 dance] Extra: [Area])
Tango for two: Link your beat to another's and force them to dance with you. (Mind control 10 Limit: [Dance only] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 1 or 2 dance])
Partner Swap: Form a rift of space, placing yourself near someone else, and allowing them to return to where you were. (Teleport 3: Flaw: [Limited "only to someone else"] Extra: [Affects Others] Feats: [Progression weight to 500 pounds, Change Direction, Change Velocity] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 1 or 2 dance])

Stage 3
The mountains bow down: Creates an overwhelmingly powerful earthquake in target location, knocking and stunning everyone in target area. (Strike 10 Linked Stun 10 Linked Trip 10 Linked Create Object (Stone wall in earth quake zone only) Extra: [Area Line] Flaw: [Full action] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 2 dance])
The heavens rain their wrath: The sky opens up, raining down bolts of overwhelming electric force upon all enemies in range, damaging and dazing them. (Strike 10 Linked Paralyze (Alternate Save, Reflex) Linked Dazzle (auditory): Extra [Area Burst, Selective Attack] Flaw: [Full action] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 2 dance])
The oceans will roar: Conjures forth a massive tidalwave, sweeping away the opposition. (Strike 10 Linked Knockback Trip 10 Linked Environment Control (hamper movement) 10: Extra [Area Cone]: Flaw: [Full action] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 2 dance])

Stage 4
Apotheosis: The elegant flourish that finishes a fierce performance. (Healing 10 Linked Recovery bonus 10 Linked Stun Linked Paralyze: Extra [Total Healing, Alternate Save Stun [Will], Area Paralyze Burst, Area Stun Burst,] Flaw: [Stun can only Daze, Paralyse can only Slow, Full action x3, Distracting, Tiring] Limit [Can only be done following a stage 3 dance])
