As Murphy's law dictates "all that can happen, will happen." I've had to change my character once more in my DM's unforgiving campaign (this being the 4th character played by little old me).

This time I decided to jump straight into the deep end and with the help of my DM build a shaper. As I've never played this type of characters before he helped me pick up my powers and such but my story was mine to decide.

As a true fantasy fan I almost always play a good character, my first ever character was a human archer played in a Robin Hood archetype of role play. Following that I played multiple good characters including a paladin, bard and eventually a cleric of Pelor.
I've also played a few natural characters such as a wizard and warforged juggernaut (my last character may it rest in pieces).

So I decided to spice things up and decided I shall play a Natural Evil character.
This is way out of my league.
I have never played and evil character before and have little grasp on the concept.
So far I just played her selfishly, doing and saying things that will benefit me first and others later.

As for my background...
I am the daughter of the (idk if he's the previous explanation in spoilers) master of coin, mother is deceased and I currently am the highest ranking Psion in the kingdom.
As the story goes on My DM tells me that an event that is going to happen is not to my liking and will not benefit me in any way so my character wants to stop it.

So my question is if this curtain way of roleplay (elf-benefit and family first) is suitable for a Natural Evil character?

Thanks in advanced

I'm just gonna run you through waht happened in the last session ok?
After I whipped up my new character I decided 'f*ck it, I want to play for the bad guys!' (my group had just assassinated the king and his long lost brother that wanted to claim the throne).
Involved in all this shenanigans was a soldier from the rival 'city-state' who was taken under arrest by the king and was chained in his throne room.
My character was in her quarters at the time when she heard crashing from the throne room above, I went to investigate and found the king dead with my old group fighting off a new threat (the long lost brother).
The dead king's body was then teleported away but I used "divert teleport" to send the body to my room instead for personal gain and investigation.
I helped "my group" defeat the brother than went back to my chambers and stripped the king of his belongings as my father knocked on my door. Luckily the body was in a different room so I talked to him for a bit until the soldier was escorted to prison by my room and I stepped out side to rub it in his nose and he told e he had valuable information for us and I told the guards I am willing to pay handsomely if they let me talk to him and then guard him for a while.
No need to say they agreed and I talked to the soldier who told me to help him retrieve his sword from the throne room in exchange for an alliance. I agreed and sent him under the guards to a prison cell. Then I find my father had discovered the kings body, I explain everything to me and asks if he can have the body for an experiment he's conducting that will benefit our already wealthy family even more.
I agreed and let him take the body to his lab. I went to the throne room and found out someone had already kinged themselves. A spoiled half Ogre Mage who's the son of the general of the army, I took the sword and went back to my room where my father was waiting for me as he asked me to retrieve a magic item that would help him complete his experiment.
I agreed and went to find that the general (the new "king's" father) trying to enter the prison cell in which the soldier was imprisoned. I asked for 24 hours to retrieve as much information as I can and he accepted. Then soldiers erupted from the cell and killed one of my paid guards and the Ogre Mage and threatened me I then proclaimed I am the only reason he had not been killed by now and they trusted me.
TL;DR
So... my alliance is going back and forth with no one asking questions and it lays where it is convenient at the moment (between the two city-states who are now going to war).

So now I don't know what my father is planing or if our family still retains a power like it used to, I just need confirmation from our DM and I'm good to go.
