If I ever actually run a fantasy setting, the Head of Vecna will be real thing (as opposed to an infamous false artifact, go here (http://www.blindpanic.com/humor/vecna.htm) if you don't know about it already). If some adventurer is actually stupid enough to cut off his own head and put the Head of Vecna on, they not only just die, but Vecna just takes over their body. I think this is wayyy more punishing to someone that actually thinks cutting off their own head and sewing on a lich's severed head is a good idea, as opposed to JUST dying.
I humbly request if someone could draw the Head of Vecna having just taken over some poor (read: dumb as rocks) adventurer's body to illustrate this. Here's a horrible reference I made in MS Paint, complete with extremely graphic blood effects! (http://i.imgur.com/WddP6tN.png)
