That would explain why this is Gnome Ann's sky. And also why time and tide wait for Gnome Ann. I'm liking this theory more and more.

On the other hand, I don't think it explains why the Enterprise only goes to Gnome Ann's old hangouts. There were lots of episodes of Star Trek with no islands in them at all.

You're thinking of Gnome Ann's Land. It played a big war in World War I.

I think Gnome Ann's greatest achievement was when she poked that Cyclops in the eye. Guess it's that +4 racial bonus against Large creatures.

Or am I thinking of her brother, Gnome Body?

Don't forget about her cousin, Gnome Ed. Pretty sure he just wanders around, though.
