I'm trying to fit warlocks into post-apocalyptic science-fiction in a way as far as possible from traditional magic as the game presents it by default, and I was thinking of a following alteration to Eldritch Blast.
Eldritch Blaster
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: S, M (Blaster Pistol)
A beam of crackling energy streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target, using your Dexterity modifier for the attack roll. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 force damage.
(Otherwise the spell works as normal.)
Feedback on the above would be welcome.
As well as ideas regarding the warlock class as a whole. The overall idea is pretty much all over the place, because the setting doesn't have deities nor alignments in use and therefore otherworldly patrons would seem out of place too.
