I muss Sue's hair and tell her parents: "don't you worry; I'll look after her."

Looking around at my comrades' parents all gathered together, I can't help but miss mine. I don't think on them so often now, but they were good people. I wonder what they'd think of me now...

Garth stands stoically, his father's hand on his shoulder while his mother gives him a hug. When she releases him, he turns and gazes at the portal, fingering the hilt of his longsword.

"Let's get on with it." he says, with a determined look hardening the angles of his face.

One of the family's servants reads off from a scroll of Feather Fall-enchanting the trio so that they won't die upon stepping through-and with that, the three step through, falling gently but swiftly through to the ocean below.

"This island, I guess. Is it inhabited, d'ya think?" I pace about in the sand a bit, kicking up little clouds of it - and shake my hair out, taking advantage of my magical charm. "Seems benign enough. But I'm thirsty from all that salt water... anyone want to help me find something to drink?"

I look towards the treeline. If there's fresh water here, it'd most likely be inland, right?

Several hours pass, uneventfully. There are some brief snippets of conversation, but nothing of any great importance.
