Has there ever been a way in 3.5 or Pathfinder to turn an ability that is a ranged touch attack into a melee touch attack?

Ordained Champion or Duskblade? AFB but I believe they can do it with class abilities.

The Close Range Magus Arcana does that.

Ordained Champion can turn any spell into an normal attack channelled through their weapon. Duskblade can do the same, but only with melee touch spells.

An unarmed strike-delivered disintegrate would certainly be dramatic. :smallamused:

There's a monk/caster PrC with an ability called "hold ray" that does that. Enlightened Fist, I think?

Cast a spell into a Glyph Seal (1000/4000 GP, MIC), then attach the Glyph Seal to an item, such as a glove or spiked gauntlet. Key the item to trigger whenever someone other than you touches it. Use the spiked gauntlet to make a melee touch attack (considered armed, so does not provoke).

I think I recall a feat or class ability that allows you to convert a ranged touch spell to a melee touch spell, increasing DC and CL, but I can't for the life of me remember where, and searching hasn't helped. Maybe I imagined it.

Hmmm, so plenty of way to do it for spells, but no way to do it with other abilities...

Ordained Champion can turn any spell into an normal attack channelled through their weapon.
Or a touch attack channeled through their weapon. The channeled spell affects the next creature you successfully attack with the weapon, even if the attack doesn't deal damage—a touch attack to initiate a trip attempt, for example, will still trigger the spell.

Whats the difference between a nelee touch attack and a ranged touch attack at five feet?

My guess is; which bonuses you apply to the attack roll and special defenses against ranged attacks.

Ask your DM. I know a RAW answer is best, but launching a ranged spell in melee is like pressing a pistol against someone and firing. It should be just as effective.

Rule of cool.

Alternately, as your DM to let you take a feat that does the opposite of the feat in CD that turns melee touch spells into ranged touch ones

Are you thinking about a specific ability? We might be able to lend more help if we can narrow down.

Does a ranged touch attack in melee trigger an AoO? Not saying it should in actual play, since as said previously it's really cool to blast someone with Force Lightning while you're brawling.
