You can go through a whole campaign using only the Monster Manual, but having picked up Fifth Edition Foes recently, I was struck by two things: Firstly, the "Discord" effect where people no longer treat each other as allies is a load of organic fertilizer, and secondly that the collection of monsters therein was rich fruit for worldbuilding. Anybody got any other collections of reasonably-balanced monsters they'd like to share?
