About 5 years ago I read about a system where players take control of a large group of people - generally in some emergency situation, like a damaged space station - and play their way out of it. Unfortunately, I completely forgot the name of the system - and that's what I want to find out. Also, if you played something like that - how did it go?

I don't remember the rules, but if I recall correctly, among other things they manage skill level of player agents: most of them are "regular", but some might be specialists in relevant fields, which can be decided by the players whenever they want. The PCs are also very fragile, balancing their large number.

I've thought about things like this, but never implemented anything like it, so I'm very curious about what the responses will be.

That said, in my experience, having one character (at a time, at least) is one of the draws of being on the player side of the RPG equation, and having many characters gets away from that kind of immersion.
