Hi all

I completed this a few weeks ago and uploaded it on DA, but not a peep from anyone there. I just want to know what people think. I may do more of them at some point, for the whole team.

V is my favorite character. I tried to get the no-specific-gender vibe going, and some of my friends say I managed it.

What do you all think?

(I wanted to upload it here, but I don't have enough posts going yet, so here's a link to my DA upload of it. Just select it and click 'go to' or copy and paste into the address bar.)

Hi guys, I'm not looking for page views or for people to sing my praises or anything. I've just been a fan of the comic for twelve years or so and love the character of V. I just want to know what people think of the painting. I can spam posts or something so that my post count is high enough to post the picture here.

Please, anyone?

I'm no art critic, but I'd say you nailed the 'androgynous elf' thing.

Aside: I don't think anyone's going to thank you for spamming posts to get up to the link-posting quota.

Very nice! Looks just a bit too female, IMO, but that might just be me.

Also, yeah, spamming is generally frowned upon around here. :smallannoyed:

Yeah, no, spamming is not something I enjoy doing.

Thanks for the responses. Getting something to look both male and female at the same time isn't all that easy. I think people would still tend to assign a gender to the portrait based on their personal preferences.

So, for the next one... any suggestions for the next character? V is my favourite, so now that I've painted him/her I don't really have any preferences. It would be nice to do the whole team.

Okay, so, the latest page has inspired me to do a portrait of Inkyrius, as if it were the one V was looking at.

Damn Rich, right in the feels. T^T

Looking forward to seeing your Inky. May I suggest Redcloak for the next one?

The image looks really good. What media did you use or is it an electronic painting?

Looks more male to me.

Okay, so here's the VERY rough first sketch draft of Inkyrius. Tried to make it match the portrait at the end of strip number 1046.

Again, you can just select the text and copy/paste it into a search bar or right click and use 'go to'.

I use Photoshop for all of my painting, with a Wacom Intuos tablet.

I'll think about Redcloak. It might be fun to do something less 'pretty' for once :D

Haha, awesome, thanks 2D8HP :)

I can't even quote you as the quote contains a URL. ^_^

Loved Varsuvius, definitely androgynous.
I wish I had the talent and patience to draw

Yikes- what are you worried about? I have a reasonable grasp of anatomy myself, but I'd kill to be able to shade like that. You seem to be progressing fine, far as I can tell.
