What feats would allow a character to be a bard (as in bard the concept/archetype/trope and not necessarily bard the class) regardless of what actual class levels they've taken?

And by bard, I mean the wandering, encyclopedic story teller/musician.

Maybe collector of stories from complete scoundrel for encyclopedic knowledge of critters. Add that to knowledge devotion and you are cooking with fire.

Able Learner, City Slicker, Smattering, Jack of All Trades are all fairly useful for emulating a Bard, though a few of those examples are race dependent. Some of the Skill Tricks from Complete Scoundrel might also help.

Master of Knowledge (Heroes of Horror) gives a +1 bonus to all Knowledge skills. Battlefield Inspiration (Miniatures Handbook) lets you give all allies within 30 feet a +2 bonus vs fear effects. Gift of Tongues (Ghostwalk) is a Heritage feat (1st level only). You start with an extra 2 languages and Speak Language is always a class skill. Master Manipulator (Player's Handbook 2) gives you the Distracting Speech and Entrapment of Words tactical abilities.
